Interesting. Can you provide a scenario in which this feature would be useful?

I'm not trying to sound snarky. I'm genuinely curious.

Interacting with any notification on the lock screen requires an unlocked phone. This way you can unlock the phone, stay at the lock screen, interact with any notification all without ever having to go into your home screen.

Old way you can't unlock and stay on the lock screen to interact with a notification. You were locked and then got prompted to Touch ID if you went to for example delete an email from th notification.

New way you can unlock on the lock screen and seamlessly delete an email with no prompts.

When you stop 1cm it automatically brings up the keyboard. If you keep going it takes you straight to your notifications. Pretty neat feature.

I've done a lot of playing around with this new gesture since it was brought up. It's not any quicker than swiping down and tapping the search bar (which can be tapped before the full notification window is fully animated to the bottom of the screen.) On top of that, provides zero additional or new feature for a totally brand new gesture.

Interestingly enough though, I've discovered two bugs. Tapping the search bar quickly and then tapping Cancel can make the keyboard stay stuck on the screen (bug 1) Then if you swipe over to the widgets and tap Cancel again (with the keyboard still stuck on screen) it will crash and boot you to the Home screen (black screen with a loading wheel) (bug 2)

If you're running the Dev beta and download the public beta profile, it will add the bug reporter app. Removing the profile and rebooting will remove it.
Really strange. I'm not sure how that happened. I had what appeared to be the developer profile installed and I've been receiving the dev builds this whole time. Anyway, I did end up deleting whatever profile was installed and reinstalling dev profile from the dev site. App went away and all is well now. Thanks for the help!

There's a huge available space gain for iPhone 6s Plus, in iPhone OS 10.0. Before it was 113 GB, but now it shows 119.5GB. I checked it if it's a bug, results are endorsing its authenticity. I copied 119 GB different files data and it copied without any glich.
I have not a single restart since then.
After installation via OTA, i used Erase iPhone Reset Command and then in setup as New.
Only loss is there's no dictionay items in Dictionary Settings.

I found it to be running much smoother now that I have done a full erase then restore from back up. The friends activity apps it working like it should, before it wouldn't show their progress. My phone would freeze periodically and now that has stopped. Also, you're gonna have to restore your Apple Watch as backup to see you're friends activity. So iPhone 1st then the watch. And lag is gone with multitasking.

How is RAM management on the iPhone 6 (1GB RAM) for you guys? Is it roughly the same as iOS 9? Does it seem like you can have more or less safari tabs open or about the same with out refreshes? How about apps? More or less or same roughly as iOS 9? What are you noticing? I read that so far iOS 10 is taking up less disk space but how much system RAM is it using? Thanks!

On my 6 Plus (not S) it's pretty good for a beta honestly. It remembers slightly less than I'm used to on 512MB RAM so I'd imagine there may not be a noticeable difference for the 6S Plus and definitely not for the smaller screened brethren.

Has anybody else noticed that the second hand on the clock app is now orange instead of red? I'm surprised I even noticed it because it's such a small tweak.

I do not have iOS10beta, but from what you say it seems that we will soon call the notification screen a home screen. Apple didn't change the home screen but is replacing it gradually...

Weather widget is slow to update. Or never does. You sometimes have to go into the weather app to get it to update in all places. I also have background app refresh on.

To be honest, I'd just say let them, their irresponsibility will make them pay through their wallets. If they ask how to fix it on here, I'll just say buy a new phone.

or tell them to roll back to iOS9 since this wont ever brick their device but might lock it down until they roll back which many many Youtube videos can show you how to do
[doublepost=1466359462][/doublepost]major glitch found in Dev beta I found is navigation in general...maps works but if you use it for navigation the map never updates with currant location, the map doesnt scroll, and the compass goes to black circle with no location. on Car Play the upcoming turns are also blacked out. used on iPhone 6 PLus
[doublepost=1466359846][/doublepost]
Performance is great so far honestly.

maybe smooth on 6S/S+ but 6 plus is sluggish at times and resprings a lot...first party and 3rd party crashing at times...still usable though
[doublepost=1466360143][/doublepost]
I don't like the fact you HAVE to press the Home button to unlock with Touch ID.
its because the Touch ID on the 6S/S plus is sooo fast it can skip the lock screen notifications, which acknowledges them in Notification center..plus the swipe is for faster easier access to widgets and the camera....i like this change
[doublepost=1466360303][/doublepost]
This sounds a bit redundant, on stage they said raising was added so you don't accidentally unlock just by touching the home button, yet they don't let you anyway? Only one of these is needed.

raise to wake only works on the 6S/6S Plus, they couldnt have two different ways to unlock the screen

Just leave it as it was before, and don't require us to press the Home button. If we want see view our notifications, use the Raise to Wake feature.

Raise to Wake works on iPhone SE as well. I just don't see why you need to press the home button to unlock if you didn't use it to wake the phone.

Doesn't happen for me. Requests to unlock as expected

if its unlocking and going to app from lockscreen widgets its cause you woke your screen up with touch ID recongnized finger. use a non used finger or the tip of you finger/nail and it will require Touch ID when you tap the widget

raise to wake work on phones with M9 only (6S/S PLus and SE) those of us with 6/plus cant use raise to wake. and accessing my phone is much easier with one hand now since i have the plus and my thumb is at just the right length to only be able reach the camera if im holding it with two hands. being able to swipe for the camera is faster and easier for the Plus models and single handed use.

whats wrong with this, in iOS 9? you would press the Home button to wake the screen and hold thumb there to unlock with Touch ID...in iOS 10 its exactly the same if you wake the screen with a click and use Touch ID it unlocks....if screen is awake its just a matter of clicking to unlock...this works just fine for me. on my 6 Plus

sorry found out its the M9 that allows raise to wake feature....the S series and SE that have that

It's because now unlocking has meaning on lock screen. You might want to unlock and freely interact with with messages (sending replies) or emails etc. but not go to the home screen. Because of that there necessarily needs to be a separate way to get to the home screen. It'll take a bit of getting used to but seems an elegant solution to access this functionality securely

Also, anyone facing an issue that when you make reply in macrumor forum in safari and start typing words, the page will auto scroll down to the bottom?

This is a known bug for any typing you do on a webpage form in safari right now.

How's performance on 6+??
Pretty laggy on some things, sometimes. have had it respring on me a few times a day, had to Hard Boot a few times to get it out of Landscape mode when i was holding it in a portait angle. so far only app i find doesnt work as intended is Shift Life. (calendar for shift workers) it crashes when you go to enter a shift..but not bad for a first beta...its on my daily driver.
[doublepost=1466365337][/doublepost]
Notification Center is working a bit weird in Beta 1. Home screen all the way left works ok. pull down from the top in the home screen only shows search/notifications.

In an app pulling down is light gray and can swipe over to the "widgets" which is missing from NC o the home screen.

Im sure it's just a beta 1 thing thatll be worked out.

thats because a left swipe is not notification center its for the widgets. swipe down is for Notification centre

Can you use Siri voice dictation in 3rd party keyboards yet?

we wont know until third parties release updates for their keyboards in the fall after iOS 10 is launched publicly
[doublepost=1466365906][/doublepost]
It's no longer possible to collapse the auto-complete (suggestion) bar on top of the keyboard.
you cant with the swipe method but you can if you hold the globe icon and turn off predictive text.

Annoying that the Today screen has gone. I used to rely on that if I was in an app and wanted to know the date. Be nice if on the pull down for notification centre or the shortened search bar they could add another status line with more indicators and the date
