Did you reinstall via IPSW or wiping all contents directly from the phone? Was thinking of doing the same.

I had originally done an OTA from 9.3.2 to ios 10 beta 1, then downgraded to 9.3.2 fresh restore, then updated again to iOS 10 OTA. So maybe the fresh restore from 9.3.2 is what made the difference. I just know now it's running pretty much perfectly.

A prettysignificant portion of this guy's post history follows this pattern. He even claimed to have his phone bend in his pocket on the first day of bendgate. He's one of money of Apple's abuse victims.

Anyway, this beta is by far the clunkiest first release since 7.0. Which is a great thing and it actually runs pretty well when you factor out some of the stuttering associated with development apps running the background. It means the devs have a lot on their plates. I do find it strange when some people complain about their phones getting slower as updates roll out, as if there's some sort of denial that every single product with a progressive operating system will face the same consequences.

Maybe as a compromise, we can let this guy keep his iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.3 and just disable the app store. And Messages. And Safari. And any other app that, if compromised, could then start sending out malicious code to more up to date devices it interacts with. They can call it...The pHone.

I sell between 400-500 iphones a year in my shop. I talk from experience apple cripples the old devices so people have to buy new devices. And yes iphone 6 plus had a problem bending that they silently fixed few months after release that's why you don't see anybody complaining anymore.

Now attack me has a person go on i'll wait.

Iphone 4 is useless with ios 7.
4s is slow as molasses with ios 9
Next one will be iphone 5 with ios 10.

None of these devices were slow in any way even after a year of updates but right now they are useless devices.

Just because you don't have first hand experience doesn't mean there is no problem. Apple will not publicly say that their old devices are slow why would they?

Hard to judge in this first beta. But I believe iOS 10 is far from "the beginning of the end" for iPhone 6s series. A9 2GB RAM brings huge difference on performance.
I would definitely agree with you on that. The iPhone6S is a mighty powerful beast of a phone.

iPhone 4 Released June 2010
iOS 7 Released September 2013

iPhone 4s Released October 2011
iOS 9 Released September 2015

iPhone 5 Released September 2012
iOS 10 will release this year.
4 Year gap

These are old devices of course new versions of iOS will be slow on them. No other cellphone maker supports old devices as much as Apple so why the hate? Android barely supports their current generation phones with the new OS.

Technology moves fast new features get added that need new hardware. You can't support something forever.

This is the best post posted. Apple is the king for supporting old devices. Let the haters compare it with other makers

No, i'll just compare it to CyanogenMod-like alternatives and the ability to downgrade your OS at will. Mostly for older devices.

That will do. Not the best post ever posted, i guess.

And if I had a million dollars I'd be a millionaire. P.O. would just lead to people leaving.

So much for updates that makes your phone useless. Let me see you use an iphone 4 for a week with all your apps and your pictures and post a video using it let's see how good the phone performs lol.

Unless you work at Apple, you can't say for certain that it's -panned. Common sense says that if they kept slowing down phones on purpose then people would stop buying their products.

Edit: Also, the iPhone 4 has a crap processor. ARM has advanced in leaps and bounds over the past few years.

Let's see you use any phone that 6 years old for anything other than phone calls an texting. Try using the latest Android OS on a phone that's 1-2 years old ;)

In fairness I'm running marshmallow on my Xperia Z3 work phone. But I don't have much on there to tax it.

My iPhone 6 Plus is my day to day phone for everything else.

Anyone having an issue with the alarm volume? Having a heart attack each morning when it goes off at full volume, even when my ringer is on the lowest setting.

Sorry if this has been posted, did a search but couldn't see it

*EDIT* - volume is in the bedtime settings, ignore

Oh ok you're an expert. Start that class action lawsuit. Open and shut case! Stop derailing the thread. Start one for conspiracy theories that have no substantiation other than personal experiences

Yes, and I've found a reliable way of reproducing it and also cause a respring.

1: Pull down Notification Centre and quickly tap the Search bar before the pull down animation finishes.

2: Then quickly tap Cancel. The keyboard will get stuck on screen. (Not 100% of the time but pretty often)

3: (respring) If you've done this from within an app. Then slide over to the Widgets page and tap Cancel again. It will crash and respring.

*I know none of this is typical use.

Hoped we'd get an update to fix the broken Safari. All of my problems, or most, seem to be centered on that.

Didn't see this in the list, but I have a bug where if I lock my device while I have a folder open, then on the lock screen, the status bar disappears. I didn't see it in the dev documentation either.
