I have to say that ios 10 has greatly exceeded my expectations. Theres so much little stuff that makes the whole thing so much better. Heres a few standouts for me:

-responding to imessages from the lock screen is epic. No more jailbreaking to get bite sms
-finally i can cancel a navigation route without desperately tapping the screen until the dumbass end button shows up. Always available even from lock screen
-widget access from lock screen is super convienient and i can get news stocks and calendar without unlocking
-animations are finally tolerable and ive turned off reduce motion
-music app is actually useful for the love of god finally. So much better. Worth it alone.

And so much more. Ive had a few app crashes but honestly ios 9 wasnt any better for me. Battery life has been fine and im definitely using this as my daily driver from now on.

For those thinking about taking the plunge do it.

I mean technically every iOS version has had lots of improvements on the other ones, so the same could be said every time a new version is released. Glad you're enjoying it though

Eh ios 9 was more of the same. I haven't been impressed with it. 8 wasnt anything special either.

If Apple just gives us a toggle to speed up animations, that would be the ultimate.

iOS 9 brought me split view, automatically turning on the display when connecting the audio jack, low power mode, and many more. iOS 8 brought quick reply to messages and notification actions. It wasn't just more of the same

I tip my hat to you guys trying out iOS 10 Beta and reporting back.

I'm too hesitant to download iOS 10 onto my daily driver.

Meh... I just downgraded my iPhone back to 9.3.2. I couldn't find anything worth running a beta for.

I also hate the new look of the Notification Center. Those bubbles are ugly and distracting. I hope they will tone them down in the final version.

I love quick type multi language keyboard. I have set my dictionary to Spanish-English and now I'm able to always on have the emoji dedicated button. Before in iOS 9 it was annoying having to swap between two languages and an an emoji keyboard.

Glad you're enjoying it, but most of what you cite has no interest to me.

It feels like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. I want to see a complete overhaul of iOS. I want notifications to sync across all my devices. I'm so tired of constantly having to dismiss notifications on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. Why can't Apple get this sorted? And I wish we could have a proper file system on iOS like the Mac. And I wish we could have a default app for opening different kinds of files like on the Mac.

I hate the direction, or rather, the non-direction, Apple is taking iOS. It seems they want us to pretend files don't exist and move to streaming. I never will. I own lots of files and folders and like to have full control over them. Until Apple decides to turn iOS into as functional an operating system as on the Mac, I will bewail the inadequacy of iOS until kingdom come. Wish I didn't have to.

Totally agree with you. Been running iOS 10 beta from the beginning and despite a few issues here and there I'm loving it! Such a huge and great update. Apple is really catching up in my opinion. :)

iOS 10 was ok overall, but due to ugly notification center (and too hard to read the tiny text on the bubbles for me) I downgraded to iOS 9.3.2 and I will stay there for a while if the final release stay like this.

I totally agree! This actually makes my iPhone fun again. Love the new look - esp the notifications and widgets - they're no longer dull!!! Also love the sizing of the fonts. There are a few bugs but nothing to stop me from using it.

Does it work for three languages at the same time? Could you maybe test it? This alone would make the new iOS the best iOS ever. I am switching between German, Dutch and English and the emoji keyboard, it is living hell sometimes. iMessages remembers the language per contact and WhatsApp does so as well but it's still buggy sometimes, especially when typing English words to my German or Dutch contacts.

Yes it does, that's is what I'm currently on a group of 3 keyboard. The emoji, becomes a dedicated icon, and then you add "Dutch-English". I went ahead and also added (besides Spanish-English), Dutch-English and the dictionary setting did accepted. Now in practice I would have to type in a few words, if you write what you want me to type I'll be happy to let you know.

Or remove animations altogether.

Amazing how the perception of "fast" can be affected just by speeding up or removing animations.

I have 4 languages set as well as emoji keyboard. And iOS 10 beta 2 allows you to play with 2 languages at most, and this does not apply to Chinese and Japanese, as well as English and Greek.
So so far I can only say iOS 10 multi language support is still in preliminary phase. You don't need to hold your breath.

But this surely can give user a feeling that "system runs faster". Plus it shortens the waiting time of those animations.

Nowadays people just want to click on sth and "boom" -- they are here! They like it.

Imagine it fully gassed up with developers developing for its features...we've almost hit iOS nirvana.

Syncing notifications across devices would make things so much easier. I hate dismissing YouTube notifications on my iPad and iPhone all the time. And come on, every iPhone since the beginning has had the same 4 icon dock and 4 column wide grid of icons. A little change to the stale layout would help. This isn't to say I'm an iOS hater, but I'm tired of looking at a grid when I unlock my phone

I was hoping for a Springboard overhaul for iOS 10. It's definitely getting long in the tooth, it hasn't changed ever.

I think iOS 11 might be a candidate for something like that. At least the best shot for change if change is going to happen. Because the change over to OLED next year, it changes some of the UI "rules" so to speak, to better optimize for the screen technology.

"Hallo, mijn naam is Frederik, hoe heet jij?" would be a Dutch sentence. Thanks for helping me!

Alright that sound worse. How does it work when you have 4 languages set? Are some combined into one and some others separate? Also, does it maybe depend on whether the language has QuickType? In my case, German and English have QuickType while Dutch does not have it.

Do people really not know that you have been able to do this since iOS 8? And you have been able to do it on 3rd party apps since iOS 9.

From the lock screen? Ive never gotten it to work from the lock screen in older versions maybe im missing something. Yes you can do it if your phone is already unlocked but not without unlocking it, until now.

Edit: looked it up, guess you could reply in older versions. But now i can 3d press to reply, so even better.
