Does anyone’s usage times seem messed up? Like it’s not counting the usage hours properly? I’ve been using my phone with the screen on for 6 hours nonstop, but my usage time says 4 hours. Standby time is correct though

I was thinking they might have changed the metrics for usage because my numbers seemed off. Not sure

I know that forever, phone calls either don't show up or show up later. For instance I can have a first of the day call for 1.5 hr and the usage only shows maybe 10 min or whatever I used the phone before the call. Have seen that many times and documented it. So take a look at that. Most times if I add up calls from the call log they far exceed the usage being reported. Very strange behavior.

Exactly! It makes me think the battery life is really bad. But when I think about it, I’ve used the phone all day.

What’s going on?

The battery life on my 8+ after the last 11.0.1 update has been really great, I used it a little here and there for internet, instagram, snapchat, phone calls, and camera, and the current standby time says 39 hours and 20 mins, with 53% battery life left, I think thats pretty good, far better than what I was used to with my old 6 :)

My battery life since updating my 7plus is terrible. Not sure if it’s the OS11 or the LTE Apple Watch draining the battery faster.

I’m getting between 5 and 6 hours usage on my 7!

Me too. So I went back to 10.3.3 and it is nice to have flawless battery

How are you getting the -dbm to show on 10.3.3? And are you on a regular ip7?

Nice battery life and I'm still enjoying my instant responsive home button on 10.3.3 too on my 7. :D

That's junk. 7-10hrs easily on my 7 10.3.3.

I’m quite sure now that in ios11.0.1 something that was using the battery a lot is now off because the usage times have dropped dramatically and the battery seems to be lasting a lot longer. So something is more efficient.

Possibly the location settings changes they made?

Yup, regular iP7, European Intel chip.

If you want to show always
If you want your iPhone to always display numerical signal strength instead of signal bars, you can perform the following process. Once in Field-test mode (accessed by entering and dialing the code above), hold down the power button until you see “Slide to Power Off”, then release it. Then hold the Home button until you’re returned to your main app screen. You’ll now see your numerical signal strength while you use your phone, and you’ll be able to tap the signal numbers to switch to signal bars, and vice versa.

So far having a very frustrating experience with iOS 11. After updating to 11.01 apple music randomly stopped working. Every time I would try to open it I would just get a white screen with bottom row of controls but it was completely unresponsive. Music would also be running in the background and draining the battery at about 1% per minute of screen on time. Im addition I could not watch videos from any source, youtube, reddit, on phone, twitter. They either wouldn't start or it would just be a black screen.

I restored a backup and at least my phone is useable but it is definitely laggy swiping though the homepage after wake up and the settings menu. 3d touch animations are also laggy. Every now and again I find apps that just won't open until I uninstall and redownload them. This has honestly been the worst update experience I've had with any product in a very long time and I'm really disappointed with apple. I won't say it's planned obsoleteness but I'd much rather have them delay the update then put out this crap.

So I decided to do a full discharge on my 7 Plus since I hadn’t done one in awhile and Apple recommends doing one a month. Also I figured it would help calibrate the battery under iOS 11.

The phone shut off at 1% and I put it in my Apple Lightning Dock (one with lightning and headphone jack) connected to an iPhone (5 Watt) charger. The phone showed the battery screen and then showed the Apple logo and eventually the lock screen and immediately shut off again. It then repeated this, except this time it powered off before the lock screen displayed. It was stuck in a cycle where the battery wasn’t charging enough before turning on to prevent the phone from shutting off.

I then plugged the the phone into an iPad (10 Watt) charger and it powered off quickly at 3% and stayed on at the lock screen. I waited about 10 seconds and moved it quickly over to the dock where it seems fine and is charging.

So iOS 11.0.1 I cant use the iPhone power charger to charge my phone if I drain the battery.

Strange. I've been in that situation a few times in the past few weeks and using the regular iPhone charger worked fine as it usually has before (this is with iPhone 7).

Not sure if this is related, but I was on iOS 10.3.3 on my 7Plus all this time. I updated to iOS 11 last week, and then updated to iOS 11.1 beta 1 two days ago. Before updating, I checked the battery capacity using the popular Mac app Coconut Battery. It was 99%. After updating, it dropped to 96%. Lost about a 100 mAh.

I have noticed the same when I updated my 6s to iOS 10 Beta 4, and my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 beta. They all showed less capacity after updating.

Is this a thing?

I cannot find my original post, but this is in regards to losing wifi connection in my house. My wifi router is perfectly good. i have not lost wifi connectivity on anything else. At first i was losing it on many apps, which was very concerning. I performed all the required steps, including resetting my network connections, forgetting and rejoining my wifi, etc. I have now narrowed it down to my Twitter app. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. I force quit my twitter and then it goes back to normal. I have already reported this to Apple and am now patiently waiting for them to run the update to fix this. It has not impacted my data use but its still frustrating. Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen.

Do you mean what you were talking about in the iOS 11.0.3 thread at https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...and-improvements.2077044/page-5#post-25215783 or the dedicated thread at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/problem-with-wifi-connection-at-home.2071183/

Still getting this on my lock screen when using the built in Apple TV remote.

This happens to me, too! I find it incredibly annoying. How do you get rid of it??? The only thing I have found that works is the restart my phone.

Usually closing all apps or clearing memory (RAM) does the trick.
