My 8+ "home button lag" seems nearly perfectly fixed, and the 3D Touch feels much more fluid to me. I was never very picky to begin with, so I am sure the obsessive will disagree with me. Also, this update seems like what the iPhone X will launch with, since they talk about the depth camera and other X specific hardware in the release notes. May not be a heavy update for iPhone 8 and before.

Plenty of big things have happened in point release updates. That's not to say that this would be one of them, but it being a point release wouldn't prevent it just because of that.

Dark mode is a feature that would require developer involvement, and Apple is historically very reluctant to introduce changes requiring developer involvement in point release updates. (Traditionally, for any software, API-breaking changes and/or major new APIs warrant a new major version.) That’s why you can see “big things” like Portrait Mode and Night Shift show up in point releases—because they don’t require developer adoption—but this one won’t.

if you click on the home button on ios 10 vs ios 11 you see the lag, I just did it on my 8 plus compared to my 7 with ios 10.3.3 and 11.1 beta 1..the lag is still there 100%

3D Touch stutter is still there on 6s. Closing apps with 4 fingers on iPad 10.5 is smooth now.

Safari scrolls differently when tapping the status bar to get to the top. I would do a screen recording, but tapping the status bar would cancel it, haha.

And if that doesn’t work, you may need to pull your SIM, reboot and then reinstall the SIM.

Notice that too. It comes to a more gradual slowdown at the top instead of slamming to the top.

I'm thinking fast wireless charging might be activated with 11.1.

Basically we won't know anything until good ol EverythingApplePro does comparisons between his like 15 iPhones.

I thought he broke most of them doing drop testing of the 8.

Not fixed. Unlock animation seems to be sped up though.
