The 8's came with the GM of 11 which wasn't even released when the 8's were announced. It obviously doesn't take that long to load the OS's onto the phones.

A touch too much on the sarcasm, don't you think? The process was to determine indexing and standby time. The process was used to see if index was still running by watching the mAh drainage vs usage/standby time being the same even if the device's screen was off and no apps running. This is entirely different, it had nothing to do with actual battery usage.
No, no sarcasm at all. So that WAS you? I was sincerely asking and seemed to have remembered that from years past. Didn't mean this in a bad way. Sorry you took it that way.

The GM of iOS 11.0 was Beta 10. Apple is usually 2-3 builds ahead on betas internally. So beta 10 was being tested internally 2-3 weeks before it was seeded to developers. This case is different because we are only going to see 3-5 betas for 11.1 in total. Meaning it was being loaded onto iPhone X units when beta 1-2 was out to developers.

I only took it that way because you asked like 3 'rhetorical' questions and we had previously talked about my "method", so I figured you were poking at that intentionally. If I misread, I apologize for the defensiveness.

Ah the other quotes were to others not you. The whole "ios 11 needs to wait to see if there is another button press even thou no other iOS versions have to" topic. But no problem all good. I assume you still do that method and have not determined any weird findings for 11.1 b2? That and the weather widget and a few other quirks are the main reasons why I downgraded to 10.3.3 on iP6s (never done that before). Just gave up on same stuff not getting addressed and battery hit from 11.1 b1 was the last straw.

Apple Mail was closing after each time being opened starting about 24hrs ago. Still doing it after latest PB. Very odd.

I'm not touching betas anymore. :D

Every time I open the mail app, it closes on its own after about 2 seconds. I’ve rebooted and hard reset (iPhone 7) with no luck.
So its just crashing? Have you tried deleting your mail accounts and re-adding them? Maybe one is getting stuck and forcing a crash.

Portrait CC bug is fixed on my 7+.
Portrait lag its not as noticeable, almost fine, but some time in low light it lags a little.
3D Touch its a little more faster, and its nice to see the 3D Touch multitasking feature again, but its weird at first to do it.
[Still waiting to test if the AirPods keeps with the disconnecting issue]
The separator page dots issue when you swipe down to make a search and then up and they would move to the dock half a second its fixed (unless you do the animation several times fast, the they will move a little down.
The bug when you are con CC, make 3D Touch and back an then try to pull down Notification Center and it would go down an open but behind CC menu its still there.

Can anyone please tell me if the status bar is visible when Control Centre is opened on an iPhone 7?

Thankyou

Yes.

I haven’t deleted accounts and re-added yet. Kind of a pain in the ass but doesn’t appear I have any other options.

I am curious why is this is continuously stated? Does iOS 10 not need to wait for another button press? Not following why all of a sudden iOS 11 has to wait and see if there is another button press when no other version had to.

All iOS versions wait for a second press. If it didn’t it would jump to homescreen immediately and you would never have a chance to double press. That’s why the delay gets even longer when you add triple click behavior in the mix. You want a delay that’s long enough for most people to be able to double press. But not too long to be noticeable.

When the 7 arrived with it’s capacitive home button something changed. I’m not sure what so I’m only just speculating. But when going to the app switcher the app that was in foreground would bounce down a little before going up again to the app switcher row. As if the pressing the home button once would immediately close the app and then the second press would stop that animation and snap it back up.

With iOS 11 this is now fixed. It doesn’t bounce anymore. But there is now a slight delay before the app closes when pressing the home button once.
