iOS 11.1 Beta 5 Bug Fixes, Changes and Improvements

I have two 5s running on iOS 11 b5. They run great. I’m not saying you should jump in and install because there are Downsides to installing a beta. But if you can ignore unforeseen hiccups than go ahead and install.

This is for iphone 8 users, how is your battery life? My 8 has right now 65% with 4h usage and 9h stand by. To me this is way too much but I am also coming from the 6s which I was recharging it 3 times a day. Maybe the battery indicator is bugged?

Just adding my 2 cents . I'm not a beta user so for the moment I have no problem with the calculator but as there is none on iPad I have used Calbot on it . It's terrific and free . That's the one I might put on my iPhone if needed .
 
I don’t know if someone posted this, but the calculator issue only seems to occur if you are working with single digit numbers. As soon as you hit the 2nd digit of a number greater than 9, the operator key you last used “unhighlights”. Also, it only seems to be a problem if you enter numbers faster than roughly 1 per half second or so..
 
Anyone have issues where autocorrect/predictive text is suggesting and inserting wing ding type symbols in for the letter "I". If I say something like, " I like this forum" It comes up as " A ? // like this forum" and other various variations. I tried resetting the keyboard dictionary but the problem still persists. I hope theres another beta and it fixes it, but wasnt sure if anyone had a fix.

Has anyone else been getting a stutter swiping between the first and second home screen? All other animations are fine.

I've been using beta 5 on my 7+ for 2 days now and while it's been ok, I have noticed that carplay and specifically talking to siri for text messages is NOT as good as it used to be. On 10.3.3 siri understood everything I said and was nearly perfect when I would talk for texting. Now it mangles MANY words and my texts end up looking like drunken messages of garbled english.

My thoughts exactly. I use my calculator all the time and have never had an issue with it missing input. It's mostly used for my budgeting and paying bills and NOTHING anywhere in there is single digit (which I would do in my head or freehand if it were needed anyway). I'm not saying it's not an issue because it certainly could cause problems in some use cases but I think it's been way overblown around here.

Now this I would say is a serious issue. Have not seen it mentioned before today, however.

On Both the iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s + my speedtest doesn't go above 40 to 44 mbit on wifi
on 4g+ they go over 100mbit easily.

my wifi on both devices in iOS 10 are giving me 300+ mbit.

Is this a known issue with 11.1 ? (is there a resolve for it?) i've used the feedback app.
I've tried resetting network and all that sorta jazz but nothing has worked so far.

Yes, in iPhone X this has been fixed.

Could be issue that is software related. Can’t be sure. Doesn’t appear to affect everyone. Check out this thread on Apple forums: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8074502

In my case, cable company made an adjustment on my line and that seems to have fixed my issues.

Air 2 on 11.1 Beta 5 - I'm consistently getting over 110Mbps on WiFi.
 
I’m having an issue with screenshots. When i take one, sometimes it just doesn’t indicate that it worked at all. There’s no flash, no preview or anything. But the screenshot is in my photos. Reboot fixes it for a little while.
 
I pulled my phone off the charger at 6:30 am on Sunday 29th....Not bad!

Still at 37%,have not charged it since sunday morning!

Pretty happy with batt. Life

Ip8+ 256Gb

This is my battery life on iOS 11.1 Beta 5 on my 7 Plus. Needless to say it’s horrible
