Have a bit of a mystery. My 7 Plus is on beta 5, but for at least the last two betas, it’s been having a freezing issue. The screen will be unresponsive, as well as all the hardware buttons, but otherwise the phone keeps functioning. Music will play uninterrupted, and I can interact with the Control Center and the Notifications screen. Everything in the both drop down screens works perfectly, except they will not launch any apps. Meaning the flashlight will turn on and off, etc. The only fix is a forced reboot. I’ve restored the phone, and reset Network Settings. Any ideas? I really don’t want to do a restore as new, but will if it’s the last resort.
There’s a whole thread about this issue here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...nter-and-notification-screens-merged.2071358/

It seems they’ve narrowed down the culprit to having Reduce Motion turned on. Had this happen to me a fair amount until I turned off Reduce Motion and hasn’t happened since. I have other freezes, but not the one you describe.

Looks like you’ve “Do Not Disturb” that contact. That’s the symbol they’ve used in past. However looking that’s you email (right?) and not sure.

No, that's messages. :) I figured this is the Crescent moon so DND apparently but didn't understand as I have never activated it for any conversation. Must have been accidental. Thanks!

Seems like you have Do Not Disturb enabled for that particular conversation.

It’s a new message for a contact for whom you’ve enabled Do Not Disturb. The icon is actually the ‘new’ blue icon overlaid with the DND icon.

Thank you!

CPU Benchmark score on the iphone 6 11.0.3 versus 11.1 beta 5 vs ios 10.3.3 score

Folks, in terms of the calculator I ditched it for PCalc aeons ago. Far superior in every way. I hear ya, but PCalc is better.

On the Mac? How is it better, please explain. I am open to ditching the stock calculator if PCalc is that much better.

I reckon this beta 5 has the best battery life for my iPhone 6S+ and the photo shows my normal usage, with plenty of Facebook, videos but not heavy use, plenty of internet browsing and emails, etc. So totally proper usage for me.

I haven't been keeping up much with the 11.1 betas besides marveling at how Apple has apparently de-priotized having a functional calculator, but is b5 overall smoother and more free of bugs and weird UI quirks than 11.0.3?

When viewing contact info (in spotlight search or the contacts app) there is a new inline option below their name to send them money using Apple Pay Cash

I’d upload a screenshot but i’m too lazy

You clearly are either an Apple employee or financial institution employee. You know that you have this but that 99% of the rest of us don’t. So we don’t have what you’re referring to. But glad to know it’s out there.

After seeing your post, I downloaded the lite version as the full version is way too expensive for a calculator.

But even that is very good. Especially the widget which is very quick and handy.

Says you! :D

I've got the full version on both my Macs and my iPhone, can't live without it. I bought PCalc when it was the only RPN calculator on the Mac, it ran great on OS 8.1, alongside my HP 48GX (which I still have and use, bought back in 1990!).

On iOS, RPN mode, Tape Mode, multiple constants, unit conversions for my work in both US Imperial and Metric units, fractions(!) for my work with architects and carpenters - and synching across devices.

Also, don't forget to consider Wolfram Alpha - its enhancements to Siri make WA a no-brainer option. Cheers!

you’re welcome

So by that principle, if I start typing a message to someone in Messages and then decide not to send it right away, then each time I open Messages or even 3D Touch on Messages to go to a different contact, it should take me to the unfinished message instead so that it can “remind me” that I had once input data there. Doesn’t sound like you are understanding the principle you are referencing.

Messages does remember drafts but they are not modal like search in Settings. I’m not saying I agree, it just seems to me that the behaviour in Settings is deliberate and I suggested why that might be. Since you can’t easily ask the engineer responsible for this (minor) functionally, could you please be polite to strangers on the Internet who are trying to help you?

Yes, at least on my 7+ and iPad Pro 10.5.

I agree it’s not that expensive considering you using it for work. But I just need it for basic calculator tasks and the lite version works fine.

I am being perfectly polite. I didn’t realize you were trying to help me, as it seems that you are just arguing that something that is clearly a bug is actually a feature. You then disregarded my bug, and post, as insignificant when you finished your post by saying this-
Meanwhile I’m facing serious bugs.
and linking to your one bug that I haven’t heard anyone else experience. Seems impolite to me.
