Maybe they will release Beta 6 to fix the calculator bug. Only a speculation
bugs like that usually get fixed in .2 updates. I remember last year the settings app would open scrolled down a little and it wasnt until the .2 update like beta 3 or 4 when they finally fixed it

You probably don't use the 6 as your daily driver or you don't use third party apps much on it to experience how horrible is it on 6 , my friend got a 6 running iOS 11.0.3 and it's crap the phone lags and things and apps run slowly , Notification Center lags while scrolling when there's a few notifications there and other lags, apparently the iPhone 6 ain't well optimized for iOS 11!
iOS11 works better on my 6 that it worked on iOS10. But I know people who have opposite experience. So really difficult to tell...

Your friend should try the Beta if it's that important. I had similar performance problems on my Air 2 with 11.0.3 that have since been fixed in latest Beta releases.

Are betas versions of iOS supposed be installed on your daily driver iOS devices so that's the problem testing betas on your daily drivers could cause problems you wouldn't like

Bad advice, but if you do, they should avoid public WiFi. Actually, everyone should avoid public WiFi

There’s been no indication 10.x is going to be patched.

This latest Beta is pretty solid and I don't have any issues with it. Or he can wait - 11.1 general release should be out soon.

Exactly let all the bugs and lags be fixed across all devices then he can upgrade but right now you're saying you don't have any lags in the Notification Center while scrolling through and slow downs while running third party apps ?

I have a friend 'upgrading' to a 6 tomorrow and I’m helping her to set it up. Should I avoid 11.1 on a 6?
I have an iPhone 6 (16 GB) running iOS 11.0.3 and am very pleased with performance and battery life. I will definitely upgrade it to 11.1 once officially released. I’m running iOS 11.1 Beta 5 on an iPhone 7 Plus and an 5th Gen iPad with excellent results.

Stay on iOS 10 please as iOS 11 is horrible on 6 and 6+
I totally disagree with you. I have an iPhone 6 on iOS 11.0.3 with excellent performance and battery life. I will upgrade to iOS 11.1 as soon as it’s officially released. I haven’t because the iPhone 6 is my test bed for official releases.

Thing is the public releases of iOS 11 feel like betas themselves so might as well go along with the public beta on your daily driver

Yes, the lags are gone in my Air 2 with Beta 5 (and with Beta 4).

Dude!!! Stop asking... this has been beaten to death. Switch to Android or stick with a 6s on down.
No. iPhone 6s also has such delay. He should just go to android entirely cause there is no such a thing called “double tap” and “home button”, fundamentally invalidate all arguments.
[doublepost=1508856580][/doublepost]Seriously, this home button delay argument must STOP! Neither side can fully convince the other and Apple may never bother fixing this issue. I would call that a random thing in a complex operating system.
Don’t forget, in iOS, there is something called double tap. If the delay is not there, how could the system recognize a double tap is a double tap? Or do we need to see a weird animation just to remove that delay? Take your pick, either weird animation or a delay. Or if anyone is so genius, bring a new solution to this issue and enlighten all viewers here.

The solution was iOS 10. It had no issues with double tap whilst having no delay

I'm finding the battery life on this beta really good on my 7 Plus. Fingers crossed it doesn't go downhill with 11.2

Press the buttons quickly and it'll result in 24.

Was iOS 10....
Alright. Makes sense.
Would not mind if you just post that delay to that mega thread instead of each beta thread cause this is a very specific bug.

That's honestly sad lol

Yes it is definitely not fixed.
has this been reported to apple multiple times by you or others? If so, I can't believe they have not fixed it by now. And I realize, as others have stated, that I can download a third party app that works, but why should I have to do this, since this essential app is included in ios, by default. Apparently, Apples focus is on what they consider more important than a basic calcutor app, go figure?

If they cant fix the home button delay, what makes you guys think they will fix the calculator delay? Both are input lag.
