I went back to iOS 11.1. I’m done skin betas for a while. They’re just not stable enough even the .2 versions slowed down on my iPhone 8 and going back to 11.1 made it smoother again

I would advise to always make an archived backup before you jump on a beta, for this exact reason. Don’t worry though, you can apply that backup when Apple releases a beta build for the X, hopefully next week.

What kind of instability bugs are you seeing and which device do you have? I’ve heard quite a bit throughout iOS 11 betas that people see a decrease in performance after a few days. Wonder if it’s some sort of caching issue or poor memory management causing corruption. I noticed that last year, a lot of 10.3.x changes were to fix memory corruption and perhaps that’s one reason it’s so stable.

I’ve having unresponsiveness issues, especially with full screen video or bringing the notification shade down over an app.

It is known that 11.2 beta 1 is mostly about bug fixes with no new features.
Do you think the beta 2 onward will also have new features or just bug fixes. If not, when do you expect new features would start.

We'll just have to see how it goes. And there do appear to be some new things already there beyond just fixes essentially.

But no significant new feature is added till now.
Normally when do the new features start- from which version?

It doesn't really need to be "significant" per se. Nevertheless, that's essentially where the "we'll see" part comes in.

In 11.2 level is 0 for sure. Confirmed with a physical bubble level. Even -1 is slightly off center on the physical level. On my 6 Plus and on 11.2 beta 1 the level is spot on perfect. Different chip in your device? Is yours calibrated recently? I had just calibrated mine as I hadn’t used it in ages.
Thanks, yes I hadn't realised you had to calibrate it (I knew you needed to for the compass). So I managed to get it to show 0 and 'green' on a flat surface, I then started up Asphalt 8 and the first game seemed OK at first. But progressively over that game and subsequent games it got worse again. By the third game I almost had to hold the phone 90 degrees from myself to play! So I then closed Asphalt and went back into the compass app, and swiped onto the spirit level, put on flat surface, and now it was way off again displaying -18, with circles wide apart. So clearly the issue is quite complicated, if someone had just played one game to test they might think there was no issue.

Is there a public beta 11.2 for iPhone X?

I have PB 11.2 on my 8 Plus with an encrypted backup. I installed the public beta profile on the X and it only downloaded 11.1. I can't restore the backup because it's higher. Anyway to get the PB 11.2 for the X?
There is a workaround that worked in he past for same major builds. See below post.

There is a workaround for beta users who only have a backup of 11.2 beta 1. I just did it and can confirm it works. Go to the backup location on your pc and locate the info.plist file. Open in notepad and search for "11.2". Simply change that to 11.1 and save the file and then reopen itunes (if you had it open while you made the change it will not work.. you have to close it and reopen). It is only located in the plist file one time. It will restore with no issues and restart.

You're welcome :)
To add, it used to also require you to change the build# in that same file. So changing both those to the previous versions would allow a restore.

Well, ya know, bad assumptions on my part which was PB 11.2 was for all devices. Live and learn. But I did speak with Beta Support and she gave me some help. I just need to wait for this to finish updating.

I'm always helpful to others. And, btw, she did say iPhone X is part of PB 11.2. See, I'm nice and help.
Oh really? Do share what she told you. There is an entire thread discussing this issue. Perhaps it would help others there. I guess you can ignore my last reply to you then :)

What build number is iOS 11.1?

It doesn't matter. I did what she told me and it didn't work. Apparently, there is no current X beta out right now. Perhaps it'll come by next week.

If she told you that the iPhone X is part of Public Beta 11.2, yet there is no 11.2 Beta for the X, then it does matter with regards to what exactly she told you.

yeah, that's true. not sure if it warrants a new beta 2 thread considering that this beta isn't available for the rest of us, so i just decided to tack it onto this thread
Your call. It will be tough to know what changes the new build has as its only on the X which will behave differently.
