I had a significant issue yesterday. I reset all settings on both my devices and iMessage app locked up. Extremely slow to launch. When I tried to enter Settings/iMessage same thing. I had to do a clean install on both devices. I couldn’t use my precious backups, as it would always go back to the same behavior. Everything good now. I reported it.

Are you using iCloud messages?

Well Apple needs to be clear on what they mean by "unexpected shutdown" is it Normal low battery shutdown when battery gets to 5-6% or when the battery has some power like 65% and the phone shuts down unexpectedly

Ooook. Think you have quoted the wrong message! ;)

iPhone 7 Plus here,

Has anyone noticed that the WiFi connections drops more frequently with this beta? it's being disconnected when the phone is locked, also while in use the connection drop has increased

Actually just tested it and while Apple is reporting 87% iMazing is showing 79 to 84% at different times so apparently the 3rd party's don't match Apples info after-all. At least iMazing doesn't seem to.

What I find interesting (sad) is that your health is reporting 86% and it had this condition. Of course this feature is in beta ON a beta iOS so I would expect more changes to come. I let my iP6s drain the other day and it got to 1% for a bit then it shut down. It did not trigger the power management. I am showing 87% health.

He said 3-5% in the orig post. :)

Third party apps have never matched Apple, at least coconut hasn’t and Apple Genius Bar has told me why. Apple’s diagnotic test gives the average battery health over the last 2 weeks. Coconut is real time. So it’s highly unlikely that they will ever perfectly match up. I would be very shocked if they didn’t use the same measurement in iOS 11.3 as they do with their diagnostic software.

I honestly had given up on the Apple widget ever being fixed. I bought Be Weather 2 (or Pro, whatever it's called now) and for the most part, I vastly prefer it. It's got the quick-look that Apple's widget has combined with the more comprehensive forecast that Dark Sky has.

I deleted (Hid?) the weather app>restarted my iPhone>re-downloaded the Weather app from the App Store. The widget and app have been working to perfection since.

The entire lack of haptic feedback on my X is really unsettling, actually.

I may give that a whirl.

I've had this odd Control Center glitch a couple of times. Spotlight actually joined the mess on the screen (i didn't get a screenshot) when I was swiping and tapping trying to clear this away. IMG_0734.pngIMG_0735.png

Battery life is pretty bad on my 6s. Getting approximately 4 hours of usage and I have to charge twice a day. That's about 30% less usage out of a charge compared to 11.2.5

All haptics working great on my 7. Sounds like the issue is only on the X.

Performance and Battery life is great on this beta :). (iPhone 6s plus)

I've tried a reset all settings and sign out/in to iCloud again (thank fook for fibre optic broadband!!) but the issue still persists for me with iCloud messages not deleting if I delete it off the MacBook Pro. But works if i delete it from the phone or ipad and deletes everywhere including on the MBP!!!

I've no idea how Apple can be so bad lately. They manage to break things that were working in the previous beta!:rolleyes:

Funny thing is that all other weather widgets work perfectly except Apple‘s stock weather widget.

It’s a beta... it’s very normal that it breaks... also, in the release note, Apple said specially in the beginning that “iOS 11.3 beta includes Messages in iCloud for testing and evaluation purposes”... this could even mean that this feature is probably not even gonna make it for the release of 11.3, if things don’t go smoothly.

I'm fully aware it's a beta and have read the release note thanks!

That still doesn't go with how things are supposed to work. You normally IMPROVE the OS as each beta version comes along. I've been a registered Dev since iOS 6. I can't remember a series of Betas this bad where apple didn't keep breaking things that worked in previous versions.

The point of this thread is for people to report the good AND bad that is happening to them whilst on the beta.

Messages in the cloud is not something that “breaking things that worked in previous versions”. It’s a new feature and they are actively adding things to it.

Indeed, we are discussing good AND the bad here in this thread, but it’s better being constructive than being aggressive. I also saw quite a few things broken in the betas, then I file some bug reports, and that’s it.

As far as I could remember, some betas of iOS 9 were even less stable. People tend to remember the good things in the past, which make this “past-nowadays” comparison a little unfair. Also, this it just beta 2, normally beta versions of feature updates could be quite buggy on the newly added features until beta 5... for example, they are probably rewriting the Books app totally, which makes it almost unusable in this beta. App Store went through similar changes on 11.0 beta too, and it was quite bad at the beginning.
