I agree, however when installing the beta software profile, I've been given the option to push it to the HomePods as well.

It's not anything special about it. When grabbing the iOS profile I'm asked if I want to add it to my iPhone or my Apple Watch, same the other way around when I'm grabbing watchOS profile. Now I'm asked if I want to add both the iOS profile and the watchOS profile to my HomePod. It simply seems like Apple just lists all available devices associated with your Apple ID on the same network or something.

[doublepost=1526342129][/doublepost]Anyone get 11.4b5 to successfully sync messages in iCloud successfully Mac 10.13.5 beta?

If I delete a message on my iPhone, my phone warns me that message will be deleted on all devices and then it successfully deletes that message on my Mac.

However, if I delete a message on my Mac, it doesn't warn me, it just deletes the message and it never deletes the message from my phone.

This didn't work with the last beta on iPhone & Mac either.

My Mac (10.13.5 b5) and iPhone (11.4 b5) both warns me about deleting messages and is synced between the iPhone and Mac. Has worked on all 11.4/10.13.5. betas.

Note, I don't keep messages for very long and don't care to. All my messages are not older than what I had since the first 11.4 beta.

For proper syncing, you must be running on the same build. Is your Mac on beta 5 too?

Aww man, the iMessage in the cloud stuff is what's keeping me from trying these betas. I really want that clustercuss perfected before I dive in.

You can go ahead and install the beta, just make sure iCloud message sync is off in settings:

Settings > apple ID > iCloud, then make sure the toggle for messages is in the off position.

That's what I'm doing, for the same reason as you - I don't want to take any chances.

Anyone else having issues downloading this beta OTA? I've been stuck at 6 minutes for the last 30 minutes..... WiFi connection on my X is just fine.

I’ve got the same situation. I left my iPhone X to download the beta overnight and I woke up 4 hours ago to see that it still has 1 hour to go, and it hasn’t changed since!

My WiFi is fine as well.

There is something fishy about iMessage in the Cloud. I keep getting this same message on my iPad, a message that is like 1,5-2 years old and it gets a new timestamp everytime so it looks like its brand new. Its only on my iPad Pro. It doesn't show on my iPhone X or my MacBook Pro, all running the latest BETA and all having iMessage in the Cloud activated.

Took an hour and 20 minutes to download on my X and I have a very fast WiFi connection.

Maybe it’s verifying every byte as it downloads??

I apologize for asking something that may be inane, but what exactly does the volume slider in Control Center, control?

Whether my phone is on silent or vibrate, if I use the volume buttons, the slider in CC does not move from silent.

I read some reports of it being on by default after upgrading for some people.

Great question actually and the answer depends upon the setting shown in my screenshot. If you have “Change with buttons” turned on, which it sounds like you do, the side buttons only control ringer and alert volume. In this case, the control center volume will change the system volume for all sounds besides ringer and alerts.

Yep, that's how I have it set. Which then makes the volume slider in CC more confusing, it seems.
