On my Verizon X, why does it sometimes not try to catch a signal, even when it's available? It just continues to say no service. I've been having this issue for awhile on iOS 11. Still am with 11.4. It's quite annoying.

It might be a possible reason the current beta downgraded the modem firmware

Well it's been happening all through iOS 11, for the most part. Happened on my 7+ too. I live out in the sticks and I lose service sometimes but it doesn't always attempt to reconnect. It just basically gives up and says oh well. Wi-Fi calling is nice to have, for sure.

Yup, it has been upgrading and downgrading firmware throughout the betas and I also experience areas where I have fully coverage but no cellular data.

Did anyone get this bug ? The keyboard on iPad is higher than usual on the screen . I couldn't fix it with reboots so I restored my iPad 10.5 from a backup I did last evening and it's working fine now .

PS: The keyboard was like that everywhere not only in iMessage
Did you try that button on the bottom right with a picture of a keyboard and a down arrow?

Not going to go through all of the pages to check so I'm sure this has been mentioned lol, but iMessages is weird. When locked I don't get my usual text tone, I'm getting the sound that it makes when you've got the conversation open and get a text (the little woop rather than the ding lol), but when I unlock my phone I get every single next notification one after the other as a slide-in notification with the usual ding (and ding and ding and ding...)

Messages in iCloud works flawlessly between my iPhone X and 6s. Battery life and animations seem be improved. Now Playing widget is still broken and now it even disappears after pressing controls.

on an IPP 12.9 G2 ...

Some apps are opening with an animation pause has been mentioned.
To this I would add display stutter or app pause (maybe the same thing?) inside of some apps.
- Safari: heavy graphics like DeviantArt
- Games like Heckfire and FFIX
- Angry Birds 2
- Spectrum TV
Did not notice the issue in 11.3.x

Anyone having issues with contact photos?

I have contacts that before upgrading to iOS 11.4 had photos. After upgrading I noticed in the messages app that several people were missing photos. I then went to the contact app and they are missing photos there as well.

I have too many contacts to check all, but I checked about a dozen and all the photos were still there. (iPhone X)

Good luck with that. I'm sure it's super frustrating.

Zero issues after these first 2 days with 11.4 on my X.
Feels a bit smoother/snappier in animations and battery life might have improved slightly. Not that I had any issues with battery in 11.3.1.

I am having zero issues now as well. It took nearly two days. Glad that I had this forum to ask, though. I didn't want to deal with the Apple Store. ;)

Does this happen with anyone else’s weather widget? Anytime it updates the weather on my iPhone X (11.4), it flashes, “tap to setup weather” before actually showing the current weather for the area. Kind of annoying.

My experience with 11.4 on my iPhone X and iPad Pro 9.7 has been quite good thus far. Battery life seems to be slightly improved and everything seems to run a bit smoother.

A few things I've noticed:

Message in iCloud works well but not perfectly. There has been a few times when I've been away from home and deleted a message on my iPhone X and it was still on my iPad Pro when I got home. This has happened a few times when my devices haven't been in close proximity to each other. Not sure if that would effect it or not?

Airplay 2 hasn't been perfect either. With my 2 Apple TV's it's been difficult to get it to play a different song in each room, when using the Home App, sometimes when I pause or play one, it pauses or plays both, at times when both are playing and I use Siri to play something different on one then the other stops playing.

Maybe that's why 11.4.1 beta came so quickly. Hopefully it addresses these issues.

I did as well. 2 reboots and all is well. Give it a try.

For the Weather widget issue:

Try this; reboot and immediately after the reboot swipe over to the widget screen and let it refresh. Reboot again and swipe over to the widget screen and let it refresh.

See if that helps! Mine has been fine since doing that.
