Ran a little slow on my 7 plus so I left it overnight (UK here). This morning there was still a delay when opening apps, but I discovered that if I clear all apps from the app switcher, performance hikes up to very good levels. No lag noticeable. Only had to do this once and it's screaming now.

Just remember if you have a watch and you upgrade that to WatchOS 4, you are seriously unlikely to be able to restore your phone back to 10 and the watch still function properly. Ensure you're happy for "no going back" if you install iOS 11 beta and then WatchOS 4 beta.

It has been one of the most stable beta 1 iOS releases I’ve used in a long time. I haven’t run into any major app compatibility problems either.

I restored and set up as a new device though so YMMV.

I updated OTA and so far it seems good. I only have one phone and hence any update becomes a "daily driver" by default! No issues yet. The first thing I did was make a quick call, take a photo, send an iMessage, and check all my online banking apps. All good.

Downgrading to iOS 10. The Music app doesn't work which drives me crazy.

What will happen if I updated to ios 11 but keep my Apple Watch in OS 3? I wanted to try iOS 11 but don't want to update my Apple Watch because can't downgrade.
It works. But iOS 11 Beta 1 is really unstable at the moment (at least on iPhone 7 Plus), so I don't recommend installing it on a device that you rely on.

Music does work for me prettig good in My ipp. It’s tomtom go that doesn’t work for me.

I have also done it on my iPad Pro, as at the moment it isn’t a critical device, and I just had to test the new multitasking; which I really think they have done well on.

One little thing I will mention for people wanting it on their iPhones or daily critical devices, is that it seems not to work with AirPods... could just be my own personal hiccough, but no matter what I do, audio will not play through the AirPods. They connect and pair and everything fine, but no audio.

It’s also quite hard to find the audio output switcher, which you seemingly can only do by playing some music first so you get the music control up in the Music App, or long press the control centre widget where it then magically appears.

Would like to know if this is a widespread thing, or whether I just need to do a reinstall (I did the OTA).
My AirPods mostly work with my iPhone 7 and iPad Air 2, but twice I've lost audio, either completely or in one ear. The missing ear was still connected, because tap controls worked and taking it out of my ear stopped the music. Their was just no sound. In both cases, rebooting the iPhone fixed the problem.

You can keep your Watch on OS 3 and update your paired iPhone to iOS 11. That's exactly what I've done. (You can't do the opposite.) I haven't had any issues.

Overall it's not bad for the first beta. I've had more bugs with the Music app than anything. Stars are missing. My iPad locked up last night playing music in the background. The task switcher on the iPhone is visually glitchy (but works). The TestFlight app isn't working--the Sign In button doesn't work--despite supposedly being updated for iOS 11.

Don't recommend it. Things were fine last night, however this morning, the following is happening:

-Cannot connect to work wifi
-Safari crashes instantly
-Email crashes instantly
-Tweetbot crashes instantly

Running iOS 11 B1 on my iPhon 6S and iPad Pro 9.7". Definitely flakey. Had multitasking fail on iPad, had an alarm that wouldn't stop when pressing the Stop button.

Note it really is standard recommendation, don't run the betas unless you are willing to deal with the bugs, crashes and what not. I imagine B2 or B3 is where it will start to be more stable for general users.

It really just depends on the situation. I'm using it on my main iPad and iPhone, but I'm never away from my desk, so I don't have to rely on the battery to last a long time. The bugs are there, but I haven't seen any of my apps being unusable. To each their own.

It's weird, because my iPad Pro will do sound over the AirPods for notifications, system sounds, and keyboard clicks... But for music, video, etc... Nothing. I've even done a fresh install of the beta. I am going to see if I am able to "wipe" the AirPods.

UPDATE:

I did a reset of the AirPods and did a from scratch pair from the iPad Pro running the beta, and it worked!

Wonder what was going wrong...?

It’s bearable lag if and only if you feel you can deal for 2 weeks I believe 7.0 beta 1 was worse than this... currently missing the App Switcher 3D Touch on my 7 Plus

Seems mostly okay for me. A few glitches when it comes to animations, but nothing major. Acceptable as a daily driver for now, but looking forward to improvements every other week.

Just a quick question about data save/restore.

I backup automatically to iCloud (plenty of space), and just occasionally to iTunes (before a significant build).

Let's say I install iOS 10, and don't like it in 3 days
- WhatsApp does cloud updates. Will it "notice" if I restore a few days old backup - and retrieve the missing messages (it could but bet it doesn't)
- I assume I'll lose any new text messages (as they're not in the cloud, and assume there's no way to retrieve from an iTunes backup)
- I assume ANY backup/restore via iCloud loses health data, only iTunes backup saves it, but can it be restored separately? I assume not, meaning an iTunes restore would be the best approach to at least only lose a week of data. Any other ideas?
- photos should all be fine as backed up to iCloud (if up to date) so will sort themselves out
- all my music is remotely streamed so no big deals there
- safara favourites are synced

Correct?

Running it on my iPhone 6S Plus. Minor annoyances like delays in opening/closing apps and some odd ones like removing an app from the app switcher and trying to go back to the home screen causes it to glitch out momentarily. I can deal with the annoyances though, so it's fine as a daily for me. Wouldn't recommend it to those sensitive to lag/glitches though.

Haven't experienced any major problems since installing iOS 11 Developer Beta yesterday afternoon.
I have done some light internet surfing and streaming SiriusXM today.

Battery stats on iPhone 7 plus
Standby: 14hrs 56 mins
Usage: 5hrs 39 mins.

So, a quick update. Less than 24 hours after installing the beta firmware, the iPad Pro 9.7" is stuck on an Apple logo. It's not a boot loop as iTunes on my iMac can see it permanently, although it complains that it cannot connect as it is locked with a passcode.

Anyone know of a way of returning to normal operation without restoring from the backup? Have tried several hard-reset operations but the Apple logo is all that is seen. Device is warming up quite a bit.

I think iOS 11 beta 1 runs fairly well on my iPhone 7. Not too badly at least. There's the usual bugs and some stutters here and there. And yes, even some app en springboard crashes. But nothing I can't handle. Battery life is okay. Slightly off from iOS 10.3.x, but since I use a battery case my iPhone still easily lasts a full day.

See, I've been on the beta program since iOS 5. Never had any big issues, except with iOS 9 beta 1 with its very bad battery problems. They fixed it in beta 2 back then. That was the worst things I've ever experienced, but usually it's just a few annoying bugs, nothing more nothing less. And usually it only takes a few other betas before it's improved.

The cool thing about being on the beta program is that you can actually experience the improvements from beta to beta. That's one of the things that I like about it. Obviously it's also to try it all of the new features. :p

Decided to go back to iOS 10

1. Buggy as hell. I installed it to try my app.
2. Most apps broken for me i.e. Barclays
3. Crashes galore had the phone freeze a few times
4. Camera app is buggy and I tired portrait mode and it's worse than iOS 10

I think beta 3-4 best time to try again

Been testing it on iPad Air 2, and iPhone 7 Plus. It has been doing great over all. Some minor bugs here and there. Nothing major so far that I can see. Some are from apps that just need to be updated. Although I’m not happy with all of the changes, overall it’s been great for me.

At first battery life was bad, but now all the background processes have finished, that's been solved. There are some minor bugs here and there, but nothing that big that would make me want to go back (updated the watch, so can't go back either lol). Either way, pretty stable beta I'd say. (installed on 7+ and iPad Mini 4)

On iPhone 6s here; so far works well - but I may have avoided issues by leaving it for a while and then force closing everything before attempting to use it. Some graphical glitches last night when swiping left to the widget screen but none so far this am. Overall very smooth.

Noticing bugs/omissions like being unable to use local storage in Files (a sensible precaution at this point, I think) and the non-working share sheet in Photos. That last would prevent me from installing it on my iPads for the moment.
