Can someone say something about the performance of the iPad Air 2 and the iPhone 6 Plus under iOS 11? Both devices are one of the older ones, which are getting iOS 11. Is iOS 11 running as smooth as iOS 10?

J/k. My mom has a 6 plus, and an iPad Air 1. I have iOS 11 on both of her devices. And it works fine, except for the occasional hiccup and bugs already reported here.

Some increase seen on iPad Pro gen 1. Compute is a little slower, maybe due to beta 1.

Does anyone have anything to share regarding iOS11 and homekit upgrades? In the Dev talk, they mentioned that they changed the process to make actions happen much faster. Is that working in the current beta? I'm curios how this is going to get rolled out and how much faster we're talking about.

So I've noticed, in addition to the YouTube toolbar issue, some other screens get "cut off" on the top. For example, if I use the share sheet to send something by iMessage, when I type the recipient's name, their contact is actually scrolled up where I can't see it. I have to scroll down. I wonder if this in a byproduct of the new iPhone 8 screen, which may be dimensionally taller?

Also, for those who are still having issues updating apps through the app store, try downloading a free app requiring authentication first. There seems to be an AppleID authentication issue for updates.
Same when viewing a picture sent via messages. When I tap on the picture to view it, the picture automatically drag to the bottom and leave like a white blank gap between the picture and header to either share or "done"

Good news: These sorts of alignment issues seem to be common on betas for the last few years but they get resolved.

Bad news: They’re usually treated with low priority during the beta period and sometimes take more than one beta to get resolved.

just wondering if anyone has it installed on the 2017 iPad pros? Getting the beta profile installed and restarting a few times but the OTA still wouldn't show up.

Here's a summary:

HomeKit triggers will now support:
  • conditional triggers (if I arrive home and it is after dark, run Scene X)
  • absolute date and time events (ie - 5pm on June 9th)
  • relative time offset (1 hour before sunrise, 2 minutes after sunset, etc) Finally!
  • The relative time offset could be gated relative to an event (ie start 1 hour before sunrise and finish 1 hour after sunrise)
  • This gating feature could be applied to other inputs as well - such as temperature thresholds
  • Conditional presence is functional now (you can trigger events when one person leaves - and/or when ALL people leave). This could mean - Jane's bedroom lights go out when Jane leaves. It could also mean that all lights go out and the thermostat changes when the last person leaves - or the first person comes home.
  • End events. When I open my patio door at night, the light will come on. Ten minutes after coming on, the light will turn off.
  • Events can be run on specific days of the week. ( I feel like that's currently possible... perhaps I am wrong)
  • Execute once. You can set up a single shot event.
  • Bluetooth LE triggered automation will experience a reduction of latency from several seconds to under a second due to a change in the broadcast process.
  • HomeKit Faucets are intended to - I kid you not - allow you to warm up the shower or bath via Siri.
  • HomeKit can now be authorized by SOFTWARE!!! In my opinion, this is huge - and could open the floodgates for all of the accessories that don't have a MFi chip.
  • Apple has added more MFi certification labs to speed up the release of accessories.

HomeKit will, and that’s nice, but so far at least it’s looking like we’ll still need to use a 3rd party app to get complex with these. I do hope Apple beefs up the Home app before the end of this beta so these options are exposed in a nice UI (some of the current 3rd party options are... not so nice to use but are more powerful than Home)

Great, thank you for the report. And otherwise, it runs as smooth as iOS 10? Sorry for asking that annoying but I think it is very important that the software runs smooth, otherwise I will not update.

Design change: Folders of links that appear on the Safari new tab “Favourites” page now open into a grid with favicons, previously they only opened into a list with no icons.

Guys, I might have a fix for you for some issues. Delete all apps in the App Switcher and you'll find that the system and app animations are smooth with little or no re-springs. I found that tip on Reddit and it worked like a charm. Now the beta seems usable.

One remaining issue is app deletion doesn't work. I hold the icons and I don't get the shaky shaky.

EDIT: Hard reset fixed that issue.

It does have a noticeable lag to it. Not sure if it is cause it’s still in beta, or older devices. But my mom is really old. And doesn’t notice the lag at all, even though I do. So beware of that. Like I said, the lag isn’t bad. But it is noticeable at times. Sort of takes a few seconds extra for something to pop up. It may get fixed in future betas.

Sounds like beta 1 is in a bad shape. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to when we'll see the first PB build? Presumably it won't be until iOS 11 is very stable.

Hello , in iOS 11 beta on iPhone 6, how about messages or what ever , notifications on lock screen? Can you reply messages with 3D Touch effect or swipe left ? Can you post screen shot or screen recordings about that ? Thanks.

Okay good, thank you very much.

Not in bad shape - for me - at all on Air2. Apple said they will release PB1 at the end of June. I think you can rely on that to occur.

Hi all. Couple of questions.

I keep seeing people saying that drag & drop as well as multi select icons for re-organizing works in iPhones running iOS11. I have iOS11b1 installed on my iP7+, and everything is running pretty smoothly, but I cannot get D&D and multi-select icons to work, no matter what I do. Am I the only one?

Also, I took the advice on this this board and logged out of iCloud and re-logged back into iCloud as a recommendation to help insure smoother operation and help with the phone heating up. Seems to have worked, but in doing so, when I logged out, it removed all my ApplePay cards (as it should). Upon logging back in, it let me add my first card back into ApplePay, but now it will not let me add the other two I normally have (usually have 3 total). It gets all the way to the card company T&C's, which I accept, and then it processes for a few seconds, and then comes back with a message that says, "This card cannot be processed at this time. Would you like to try again, or cancel?" It does this for two different card companies (Citizens Bank and US Bank), however, they are both Visa cards. My AmEx from BoA was set up ok. Anyone else running into this?

[EDIT]
So I was able to add both cards to my Apple Watch running WatchOS 3.2 (so all three are there now). Once I did that, I was able to add the Citizens Visa to the phone, but still won't let me add the US Bank Visa to the phone (only the watch). Very strange...
