How did you pull that off? My battery life on 6s+ is horrible
Here is my configuration: Apple knows best if you stick to their default settings. I've only made changes to features I don't ever use.
Control Center - Cellular - Always On
- WiFi - Always On but toggle off when not connected
- Bluetooth - Always On for iWatch
Personal Hotspot - Always Off
Notification - On for ALL apps except Facebook since it can be a battery drainer and government alerts
Airdrop - Always Off since never ever use this
Handoff - Always Off since I don't use this feature with the iWatch
Auto-Brightness - Always Off since I've notice it is a bit aggressive on iOS 11 betas and I adjust to what I need to see
Reduce Motion - Always On with Auto-Play message effect
Home Button - Default click speed, Press and Hold - Off, Rest Finger to Open - On (Never really use Siri invoke)
3D Touch - Light sensitivity
Background Refresh - Always On since system control suspending in backgrounding
Display & Brightness - Manual adjust to liking enough to see (never maxed out), Raise to Wake - On
Siri & Search - Always Off for "Ask Siri" and "Siri Suggestion" since I don't use Siri at all
Location Services - Always On with all apps set to use location ONLY if app is "While Using", System Services - On for most except off for SOS, Homekit, Location-Based ads and suggestion, Motion and Significant Location (I rather not have my location I've been to be tracked) and off to product improvement section
Motion & Fitness - Always Off since I use iWatch to track fitness
iTunes & AppStore - Automatic Updates only
Mail - Accounts set to sync either 3 days to a week only, Fetch New Data - Manual for all accounts & Fetch to manually with Push set to Off (I rather refresh it myself by opening the mail app)
Game Center - Off
Practice for charging - I only charge device from 0-100% if the device died or calibrating to see hows battery life on a new beta and it has been consistent on beta 10 so far from 0-100% with over 10 hours usage
- After if I'm satisfied with battery life, I charge from 1% to between 80-89% to keep charge going (Sometimes I notice at this range the charge seems to last longer than a full charge)
- If I charge the device from 1% and forgot to unplug at 89%, I'll leave it charging till 100%
- Battery usage will only show if device remains powered on without dying and reset after it reaches 90%
- I never leave phone charging over night and I unplug when charge is at desired level
Practice for apps - I don't close apps unless it is giving problems and leave it up to system to suspend them in background
Practice for updating iOS - Never use OTA. Use full IPSW via iTunes. Normally, I would close all apps from app switcher before updating. I use to update by connecting the device, hit key to select IPSW while device is on. Lately, I turn device off, press either volume down or home while connecting the device to bring up recovery mode to update. After a successful update, I restart the device and let the device settle with whatever battery life till it either dies or 1% to full charge to see how battery life is on the update. While charging, I would relaunch my mostly used apps so it is reloaded when I need them and doesn't consume as much battery if its off charge. I don't think it matters which method to use to update with iTunes.
