So pretty happy with beta 2 on my iPhone 7. Only real issue is over heating but this only seems to happen when I’m on safari?

Battery details for today below:

My device always heats up a good amount when watching certain videos on Safari, I’m not too sure why either. Sometimes it also heats up on pages with large photos.

I have a question & search for a workaround!
In messages, under the Apps section I get a ribbon of EVERY optional stickers from every app I have.

When I go to edit; even when I uncheck them all. They all remain checked as soon as you exit.

This is in beta 1 and beta 2 on my iPad 10.5 & my iPhone 7 4.7.
Anybody else have this or know a workaround?

Currently no workaround for the app drawer in messages.

I do notice that pressing on the little “App Store” icon that shows next to the text field can make it go away for awhile but it is not permanent and does come back shortly after.

Weather App
So guys I can't seem to find "chance of rain" percentage next to icons in Weather App, however I'm now not sure if this was present in earlier versions of iOS or if I'm just confusing that with macOS widget which has these. Can anyone clarify this?

Notes App
Also there is now a new option when collaborating on a specific note in the native Notes App. You now see colours next to person names, which should help you differentiate between recently made changes.

However this doesn't seem to work, when I open notes it just briefly shows changes. So in a long note you have no way to tell what was added (as long as you didn't memorised the entire note and just know what's new).

Also there are two more options regarding shared notes, you can now "show all changes" and "disable alerts".

Regarding the first, this just highlights with that colour find next to your name things all the text you entered in that particular note. Which is not really helpful, but I don't really understand how this should work in the first place.

The second one should disable those "new edits" notifications. However those doesn't seem to work correctly in the first place, sometimes I get that notification after like two hours, by that time the person who made those changes already called me, that he made them.

Were "new edits" notifications working correctly in iOS 10? I don't remember if they were even present. (I would say they weren't)

Mail App

If I receive mail on my @icloud.com e-mail (this happens with e-mails by any provider I just think this should work at least with Apple's) and I read it on my Mac, so that should be marked as read. They when I get to my iPhone for example in an hour, that notification is still there. I have to open mail, let it sync. Why isn't this gone? Like slacks notifications? Is this supposed to work like this or Am I just doing something wrong?

Thank you for clarifications, need these before submitting bug/suggestions.

In this beta, even compared to iOS10, my phone boots up fast. Not only that, if I type my passcode as soon as the number pad appears, it connects to WiFi in under 5 seconds. Previously, all my notifications had time to come in over 3G before my phone connected to my wifi for the first time. This is much better.

Also ...
To those who keep asking whether the app switcher is fixed or why the iMessage apps can't be edited etc ... there's a magnifying glass icon top right of this page. Click it, type in something reasonable relating to your issue (just one or two key words will do) and tick "search this thread only".

How's battery life with Beta2?Beta 1 was sucking out battery on my iPhone 7.

I feel that battery is not really good on iOS11b2 comparing to iOS10.3.3b4.
Two things:
- CPU does NOT go on standby mode. That causes 1.5% pro hour battery drop! Even on airplane mode.
- CPU runs on higher rate, more heating, more energy consumption (screen on).

I reverted because of this to 10.3.3b4 (no problem with downgrade with this version)

Battery details for today below:

There has to be something bugged with Safari. Everything seems to be working good with BETA2 for me besides Safari. There is nothing wrong with Safari, it performance good but the phone gets hot and the battery drains really fast when using Safari. And no, I'm not watching videos, I'm just doing regular old web browsing.

Ever since BETA2 Safari has gone from draining about 20% of my battery to 67% according to the battery log.

And Apple Music is still acting up and crashing a whole lot. And there are still issues with video-playback in a lot of apps, seems like Plex, NRK and other video apps needs to be updated in order to function properly with this new video-player in iOS11. Not to mention most porn sites does not work within Safari with the new video-player.

Not an iOS bug, but how iCloud works. Along with sharing icloud storage with iOS backups which eats most of the free 5gb (4.2/5gb for me is backup, docs, and photos), this is a big reason I've never bothered to use iCloud email services, beyond no business/domain solution, as it offers nothing more than a free gmail (no push but everything syncs) or outlook.com account (the best if you want an exchange account).

I believe it was brought up in another thread somewhere but:

iCloud, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch: Some of my emails/updates don‘t seem to be pushed to my device
When you read, delete, reply to, or move a message on one device, your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch does not appear to update automatically.

If your iCloud email account is configured to use Push (in the Fetch New Data settings on your device), your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch will update automatically whenever you receive a new message in your @me.com or @mac.com Inbox.

However, moving an email to a folder, reading a message, or flagging a message does not trigger a push notification. These kinds of updates will appear when you open the Mail application on each of your devices.

For example:
  • If you read one of your iCloud email messages in the Mail application on your computer, that email will still appear in your unread mail count on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until you open Mail on that device. Once you open Mail on the iOS device, the message status will be updated.

There is clearly something going no with Mail.app. I don't use iCloud, I use hosted-exchange/Office 365 and it has the same behaviour for me and it didn't behave like this in any previous version of iOS. Not only that, but I get all push notifications twice on my Apple Watch for some awkward reason.

Thank you for clarification, however I don't really understand why this works like that.

So you're saying that for example gmail works ok even in the stock Mail App? Or have I just misunderstood you?

Isn't this because of the fact that iPhone is trying to stop "cross-site tracking"? So it's using resources way more than it did in iOS 10?

Because that's how Apple implemented their push technology? No idea why, just how it is per their own FAQs. It's not someting new or to this iOS version that is a "bug"

Gmail uses IMAP, totally different technology. You lose push (checks every 15 or 30 min on fetch) but IMAP syncs the read status (plus everything else email normally does).

There is clearly something going no with Mail.app. I don't use iCloud, I use hosted-exchange/Office 365 and it has the same behaviour for me and it didn't behave like this in any previous version of iOS. Not only that, but I get all push notifications twice on my Apple Watch for some awkward reason.

outlook.com accounts which use MS Exchange (obviously the newest version of Exchange being their own tech) syncs read status. Just tried it marked read on the web and phone went to read.

So clearly something with your server/implementation, or possibly a MS bug; check their support pages there are known issues with EAS and syncing read status.

This is why I dont mess with Exchange at all because Exchange is not Exchange across the board and fragmented; different versions do different features.

For example I have a Zoho hosted domain account and have it setup as IMAP vs. Exchange. Why? Because whatever old version of EAS Zoho still uses is so old it doesnt even sync the drafts folder!

Has anyone had specific apps that aren’t working with beta 2? The argos app for me is broken, doesn’t let me search on the app or go on any categories. Anyone else whose got the app experiencing the same thing?

Yes, I've seen this on several applications. Nearly all "radio" apps for me will not find streams correctly and just say they are currently not broadcasting. But I can pull the streams up using the same apps on IOS 10 so there's definitely issues with apps on IOS11.. obviously beta bugs.

Or the app needs updating, not all apps not working are beta bugs, this is a major update to the OS.

Biggest issue I've experienced is around no access to iTunes and the App Store. I read a thread a while ago that pointed to multiple installed profiles causing the issue. In addition to the beta software profile I have a work-related MDM profile. When I removed the MDM profile, I was able to access both the App Store and iTunes again.

All of a sudden, in the last 24 hours I am getting a lot of "accessory is not supported" with both Apple OEM cables and chargers. Pretty annoying.
[doublepost=1498495633][/doublepost]
I had a similar experience: if you attach the lightning connector to the iPad first and then to the wall wart via USB, it charges. Otherwise, it says the cord is an unsupported accessory.
Work around is working for me. Thank you. Haven't been able to charge in 24 hours cause it just started happening.

Unless you are using the phone constantly without letting it go to stand by, those numbers are wrong. You have some run away process that could be in stand by but is also contributing to activity.
