This button to activate iCloud Data Family Sharing is not working for me at all in Beta 2. I tap it and it just sits there, with a spinner in the right corner of the dialog box appearing then disappearing. Is this happening to anyone else? Filed a bug report on it, but it really seems to be a server-side issue vs. an iOS issue.

Has anyone had issues with messages delivering to iOS 11 devices? I have multiple contacts that at random will not let me receive their messages. The messages show on my iMac and Macbook Pro on Sierra. I have icloud message sync on and this doesnt seem to remedy it when syncing...
Can I turn off the message sync? What will happen to my messages that are now in the cloud? Do they remain in my 'backup' in the icloud/itunes backups? Or what?

Yes, just go into the individual devices in your family and enable family storage there.

I see. To do so, those other devices have to be on iOS 11 Public Beta as well though, right? They're all operating iOS 10.3.2 and really don't want the family on beta software or else I'll be 24/7 tech support lol. I've read reports on Twitter and here that iOS 10 devices can be activated to use this feature, but must be activated from an iOS 11 device, which is my mini 4, but this button isn't working.

No, the devices of family members with whom you want to share iCloud storeage do NOT have to be running iOS 11.

Anyone having issues with a Ford Sync Gen 2 vehicle? In my car that has Ford Sync 3, I initially had issues getting BT to stream media, but using a USB lightning cable, it worked fine. Eventually, I deleted both the BT profile on Sync and in the BT settings on my iPhone 7+, and re-paired them from scratch, and it worked fine.

However, on my wife's 2014 Flex, which has Ford Sync Gen 2, neither the cable nor the BT connection works. The Sync display shows the artist, track and progress in the song, but the iPhone will only play the musing through it's speaker, never to the car. When I try to change the audio output, it does not even show BT Sync as an option, and going to USB shows nothing either. Only iPhone speaker (despite the fact the phone is definitely connected). Same no matter how many times I unpair and re-pair the iPhone to the vehicle. Everything else works (calling, address book, etc).

Anyone else?

Anyone experiencing battery drain overnight ?
Is your battery stats for usage and standby the same time? If so thats whats up. I'm losing 80% battery life in 8 hours on standby. Whatever is running, really needs to stop running. iPad is unusable. I could downgrade, but I will just upgrade back to iOS 11B3, and on my awful internet connection, I don't want to waste the 2 hours for downgrading and 2 hours for re-upgrading. I really, really hope we see a beta 3 Wednesday.

Today, I lost 6% on my 6s Plus . And I always turn Airplane Mode when I go to sleep.
Oh..only 6%? Lol. I'm 80% overnight...

Thats the issue I am having on my Air 2 as well. Something is running 24/7. Even after setting it up as new and installing nothing. Thats why I'm getting 80% loss overnight. I was gone for 12 hours yesterday, left my house at 100%. Came home, didn't touch the device once, it was completely dead.

I'll check again tonight, but it didn't seem unreasonable. I'm actually getting pretty good battery life right now although we'll see how it handles at work where my signal is pretty bad. 25 hours standby, 6 hours usage with 22% left right now.

I was watching a TV show . 45 minutes .
battery was 95% , after 45 min, 73%

Usually, I lost 7-8% when I watch a Tv show.

My best guess about the battery drain has to do with Photos possibly reindexing with the new iOS 11 features. I read somewhere (I think maybe in this thread?) that someone connected their iPad or iPhone to Xcode and checked the daemons and saw ones related to photos running nearly all the time. Once he killed those processes, it was back to normal. Methinks there may be more to it than just these daemons, but I think that may have something to do with it as well?

Anyone managed to get the BT car problem sorted?

Or can you report it is working fine with CarPlay?

I've been running ios11 on my iPad Pro 10.5 since the day I bought it and no real problems. Love it. And now on verge of giving in and putting it on my 7 Plus which is my daily driver.

I'm never away from a charger for huge amounts of time so slight battery drain won't be a massive issue, just a slight inconvenience. My phone charges off USB in my car and if I'm not in my car, I'm at home most of the time.

But I need to make sure I can control CarPlay fully -
So can make and receive calls, order Siri to play music, send messages etc.

Would appreciate it if a fellow guinea pig could report if it works to save me having to downgrade again tomorrow

Thanks in advance folks.

That's great, except then you ignore the background battery drain that also happens throughout the day. It makes sense to see what the drain is every now and then, especially with a beta.

Maybe, but in reality it’s part of the beta process. More often than not it’s caused by an intentional bit of code related to the beta process and resolves itself on it’s own or is removed in a later beta. I have noticed no change in battery but like another said above, my phone is never far from a charger. I run CarPlay on my way to work which negates any battery usage from my morning at the gym and I have chargers anywhere I may end up sitting while there.

I realize it’s an inconvenience to some but it comes with the territory. If you can’t top off when you need to then you probably shouldn’t be running beta software on your primary device. And I will NEVER understand the whole “I’m losing massive battery overnight” thing. There’s NO reason to not have your phone on the charger while you sleep.

The point is to find out if a rogue app is draining your battery during standby. If your battery drains 50% overnight, then it will drain 50% + your usage during the day. That's the only reason why you wouldn't charge it overnight, once you establish that there's no problem, there really isn't a point to NOT charging it overnight. I hope that made a bit more sense.

I have standby and usage times same with 6s+ and dev beta 2.

I use airplane mode at night and charge in the morning. I get through the day so I have not investigated further. I have no photos and I do not use iCloud, wifi and bluetooth is off, location is on.

In 11 hours battery has gone from 94% to 30% (used mainly safari and spotify).

CarPlay is not fully functional as in the messages app still has a lot of bugs and replies and reading the messages aloud don’t always work. It seems to have many issues with Bluetooth connection in the car, but CarPlay is a good workaround for now.
