It continues to constantly respring when swiping to bring down the notification centre or in multi-tasking menu mostly. So annoying. Hoping for b3 to be dropped soon.

Why earlier betas always buggy ? Does Apple writes each iOS version from scratch ?
Of course not. But they are adding new stuff each beta, which many are invisible to customers. These are the main source of bugs in new iOS.

I don't understand that either. It is essentially iOS10 with a few features bolted on. Those features that already exist should work. New features, I would understand if they are broken.

I think this is extremely presumptuous. You have no idea how much code optimization they do between major iOS builds, whether they are now using Swift as opposed to Objective C, etc... I don't think its anywhere close to adding a little bit of code here or there for new features. Plus, during betas, Apple is testing things and may want to do so without, say, battery optimization turned on. In addition, they are logging the heck out of everything, which further degrades user performance.

Yeah it happens me to as well. If you swipe down for the notification center then immediately swipe up for control center = instant respring.

Wow the past couple days iOS 11 has almost been unusable. Have to restart phone every hour or so. Most apps fail to open , app switcher is a mess also. Not complaining , I know it’s a beta but weird how after a couple of weeks of smoothness and all of a sudden it’s world war 3 in my phone lol

I've not had the difficulties you've had but have had more glitches lately than at the beginning. However, I know others are also having their experiences degrade to the extent you are talking about. You would think that the code is static and, as you note, have the same experience from start to finish of a beta. I would be interested in knowing why this would change over time. Is the code just "breaking down"? (I know that's not likely, but still, that's what it feels like)

I was just using AirPods, listening to a podcast on my iPhone 7 Plus with DB2 and suddenly the podcast stopped. I tried to wake my iPhone and it would not respond. I then plugged it in and it lit up to tell me it is charging like normal. I unlocked it and my home screen is completely empty. Not a single app and the widget page is empty as well. I did a normal power off and back on and it comes back up to the same. I received a text message and the Messages icon on the notification is a gray box and I cannot force touch or do anything with the notification. I attempted to “Update” back to the same iOS 11 build by holding option and clicking update and I get an error 4003. I have now put the iPhone in Recovery mode and am trying the Option Update again. A very similar thing happened to my iPad on DB1 and I ended up having to restore it. Has anyone had this happen or heard of it?

went back to iOS 10.3 on my iPhone 6 and omg i forgot how fast that phone could be lol also the "old" notification center was / is soooooo much better than this lockscreen / notification center merger crap.

the germans got a word for it "verschlimmbessern". trying to make something better but actually making it a lot worse

Same for me. Several re-starts later, purging open apps, etc., it seems to be mostly back to normal.

Safari slide over now shows ‘open link in new tab’ instead of ‘open link in background.’

Also there is no animation when opening links.

I also noticed a bug when using two finger trackpad gesture on keyboard it often causes the split view app to move instead of highlighting text. Have sent feedback.

Holy crap! Can you post a screen shot of this?

Couple of mp3 files I downloaded (tone tests, I think). Long pressed on one -> Share. Music does not show in the share sheet if instead I do it with a .txt file, so Music has registered mp3 as an extension it accepts.

Opening photos app makes screen go cooler white:

Has anyone noticed that when you open the photos app the iPad screen goes a cooler white and when you open other apps the screen goes warmer? Not sure if it is feature for viewing photos or bug.
It occurs even during the day when night shift is not on and it only appears to occur if true tone is switched on.

Testing on iPad Pro 9.7” with true tone on.

P.S. I just tried opening the videos app and it causes the same behaviour (cooler white screen) so I suspect it is a feature rather than a bug.

Can others try testing to confirm. Thanks

Confirmed. Just tried 4 finger swiping between Safari and Photos and indeed the white is whiter in Photos. Also truetone enabled on a 9.7” pro though so not adding another datapoint.

I just tried sharing an mp3 file from mail to music and a window slides up titled “new post” and then slides back down and the file does not appear in my music library. Is it actually transferring the file for you?

Also using the share sheet to save file it has option for iCloud and on iPad but both appear greyed out. However it allows me to select iCloud, choose a folder and save, where as the iPad option doesn’t do anything. I’m guessing this option is still a work in progress.

P.S. I just tried again after successfully saving to iCloud and this time iCloud is not greyed out but ‘on iPad’ still is.

No, I said that in the original post. It doesn’t turn up anywhere in Music, Music has registered to accept them however. Might be a bug, might be a sign that you’ll be able to copy audio files to Music.

And the save to iPad thing doesn’t work yet, no. That one, we at least be certain will work.

The Files app needs a LOT of work over the beta period and even in the best case scenario it will only become really useful for a lot of people after GM and storage providers update their apps to integrate properly.

That's pretty normal in software development - thats why you have betas, and narrow bugs down. This is very complex code. A lot of work is going on behind the scene, and the framework is being extended a lot for developers.

Am I missing something in the new AppStore reviews? Some apps showing reviews while others aren’t. Even if an app currently doesn’t have any reviews for that release I can’t seem to find a way of reading reviews from previous versions?

Is this the same for everyone or am I doing something wrong?

Has anyone noticed the cut, copy and paste buttons on the on screen keyboard don’t work in Safari text boxes - they are greyed out. I have not noticed the problem in any other apps.

However the shortcut buttons work on the Safari URL bar. I have sent bug report.
