iOS 11 Beta 5: Changes, Bug Fixes, Enhancements, etc.

Well do you remember iOS 8.0? It was a dog as well on release day iPhone 6. Wasnt until several updates that it got better. So yeah could be a while before 11 works really well.

Reminders in Settings was never flipped, which is one reason everyone assumed Apple must have flipped the main icon by accident. But very strange that they fixed Contacts and not Reminders...

More interesting is on my iPad the contacts icon was never messed up to start with. Only the reminders icon was and still is. (on home screen, icons in settings app were always correct). The consensus is that they put the right to left languages icons in as default by mistake.

They haven't removed it. It's not there because you haven't got any files to look at. Whether that's a bug, who knows.

For now, go to safari, go to the first post of this thread and save the PDF attached to the 'pages' app or any other app you have installed that will let you. Then the 'on my device' selection will come back in the files app.

No 'third-party' apps are appearing because they haven't updated their info.plist to support the new API - they haven't done this because iOS 11 isn't out yet.

I've just installed a few of my apps with the updated plist (keys) and the local storage solution is working great! Just as I expected, and super easy to enable.

Honestly, while I believe Apple have no intention of heavily pushing local storage, by watching the WWDC videos you can see they have put at least a good amount of effort of getting something together - no way they just up and remove it now.

It might not seem like anything now, but once ios 11 is out and apps are updated to support it, it's going to be great.

I really thought after 5 betas it should start to be final this beta is a step back from 4 so glitchy and laggy hmmm apple switch it up can’t be ready soon

I've had similar to this in Beta 4 where it takes about 5 seconds to actually initiate the call on my end, but from the other person they just think it's silent :/

iPad is still freezing. iPhone is still freezing and respringing. Ugh. Definitely not doing another restore on both devices since I just did that a week or two ago. PayPal app doesn’t work now either. It did with the previous betas.
 
Drag and drop in notes crashes now, not dragging into a note but within or from a note to say pages. Crash. iPad 10.5.
 
-Removing TV provider crashes settings
-Unable to reinstall Apple apps (Stocks,Weather,TV)

Noticed a new feature in Messages app while sending a photo/video. You can “drag and drop” into the chat area and it’ll send (added to Wiki)
 
Transparent dock? Please Apple?

(Also, there needs to be a better way to access the main page in the News app. I often find myself a few articles deep, and have to either keep clicking back, or just closing out the app.)

Yeah I remember a bunch of people said Contacts was correct on their device. Not that it really matters, but its rather odd.

Contacts was reversed on iPad but correct on iPhone for me in the last beta. Correct on both in this one. Reminders is still wrong everywhere.

My paypal app is working fine on my 7 plus.
 
Oh nice when you hit the camera icon on a conversation on iMessage it no longer shows the empty gray space for the quick select of pictures. That was annoying me. Glad it’s fixed.
