However if you switch WiFi or Bluetooth off by going to settings and then enable and disable flight mode, WiFi and Bluetooth will remain switched off.

On my iPad Pro 9.7” it is working as described above.

Thank you. Could be the expected behavoir in iOS 11 but if I disconnect from Bluetooth and wifi why should I want these connection to be established after flight mode?

Its remains odd to me that the control center controls does not have the same functions as the settings they refer to.

I’m not a fan of the new ‘disconnect’ control centre toggles either. It is still worth sending a feedback report regarding this behaviour when disabling flight mode.

Anyone have this one? Apple Music library appears empty (“Looking for your music?” Why, yes, I am!) on my iPhone 6s but works fine on my iPad.

I found one similar post for the last beta. It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks leading up the GM...

Ah! It toggled off iCloud Music Library in Settings during the update. Phew!

Does anybody else find it completely ridiculous that wi-fi and Bluetooth now can not be turned off from control Center? I just don’t get it. What’s the point? Or have I missed the boat on that on that discussion?

Installed DB8 last night. No issues or bugs that I noticed so far. No resprings or reboots. Battery life is pretty good so far too

Used ‘hey Siri’ whilst driving today with the DNWD active.

Never seen this screen before until this beta.

I just noticed today after installation of this beta I have stopped receiving messages sent or received on my phone. The last beta they worked as they should.

I finally caved and installed the PB last night. So far so good on my 7+, no stuttering issues so far. I did notice that when I raise to wake, my clock seems to comes on faster than my screen....sorry if this has been mentioned before but could this be maybe the behavior that we will see on the 8 because of the OLED screen?

I jumped on the beta train with iOS11b8 and i see a huge improvement of battery life over 10.3.3 (with a Apple Watch paired)

On the iPad the lock screen has a new animation when switching on the screen (pressing power button or home button). The clock appears first and then the wallpaper fades in from black. Not sure if this is what you are referring to.

Ahh yes, it is but on my phone. I notice for a split second the clock comes on first then the background. I figured because of the OLED screen on the 8, this could be where we see some sort of always on feature due to the individual pixels.

Just read through this thread - we talked about it around 26 times I guess :) It's intentional and only disconnecting you from your current network for a certain amount of time.

I get that it’s intentional but I don’t see the point

I found a silly bug, when you enter wiggle mode while AssistiveTouch is on, if you hover and app over the AssistiveTouch it will just bind to it wherever you take it :p:D
Or we can consider it as a feature. You know, sometimes, bugs can be features. :p

Bluetooth and Wifi radios do more than just connect actively to Wifi networks or bluetooth accessories. They're used to make location faster and more accurate, connections to Apple Watch, EarPods, Handoff/Continuity etc. and generally, when most people tap those buttons in CC all they wanted to do was disconnect from something, not lose all those service. It won't suit those who like to micro-manage radios for some reason (the power gains are negligible) but for most I suspect, this will do improve things for them. YMMV

I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but look at my post from earlier on:

To sum it up: Apple is absolutely right to hamper users from toggling WiFi off. Give it a read...
“Nah, it’s much better now. In regards to Airplane Mode, it is meant to prepare your phone to take off and be used inside an airplane. The only thing you shouldn’t use on airplanes is cellular connection, the whole idea that WiFi or Bluetooth (lol, such a tiny, tiny, drop-in-the-ocean of a connection) can interfere with airplanes is a proven myth. Why should Airplane Mode disable Bluetooth and WiFi?
Also, in regards to keeping Bluetooth and WiFi on while just disconnecting them from their current WiFi and Bluetooth connections, newer versions of Bluetooth use very little energy, the energy savings shouldn’t be more than 1% to 2% out of the total battery life. WiFi also uses very little energy nowadays.
On the other hand, if you turn off your Bluetooth and WiFi you won’t be able to use continuity, to connect your headphones to Apple’s W1 chips, you won’t be able to use AirPlay, you won’t be able to send files through AirDrop, you won’t be prompted to use your iPhone or iPad as a remote control for the Apple TV, and so forth.
Do you know how annoying it was when I turned airplane mode on and off to search for cellular connection (or inside a plane) only to find that my AirPods stopped playing? Now THAT’S bad design.
Apple is just teaching us how to use things correctly, and taking us away from the myths of the past (such as WiFi and Bluetooth influencing airplanes lol, or that Bluetooth draaaaains your battery life).”
Also, if you keep WiFi off your location is much less precise. We should thank Apple for encouraging the right use of their devices.

Anybody else seeing a terrible keyboard in this build? Mine is lagging and autocorrect is terrible.

The resprings are getting kind of ridiculous. Typically I got one or two every couple of days on beta 7 but the first day of using beta 8, I got 6 resprings just from doing stuff on the phone. Opening speed test app, opening fast.com app, pulling notification center down etc. Not sure what's going on.
No resprings on iP6s or iPad mini 4 since about beta 5 or 6 maybe.

Tried it. Can reproduce on landscape. iPhone 7 Plus.

Ah, landscape did it.
Try turning off "raise to listen" in the iMessages settings. There was a problem in iOS 9 or 10 that got fixed but its back now. Rotate to landscape and it fires off voice recording OR blacks out OR locks up OR resprings. Most of the time but not always. Its like 98-99% of the time though. Anyway turning off Raise to listen option seems to fix those kooky issues so maybe this one as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, but it didn’t help. It’s not the action of rotating to landscape that causes this. It’s rearranging the iMessage app drawer while in landscape that does it.
