I just downloaded by "real" iOS 11 yesterday (no longer beta) and I am ALSO having connectivity issues with my SRS-XB2 Sony Bluetooth speaker. Did you ever discover any workarounds or solutions? I'm getting constant dropouts!
I have met this problem too, iPhone7 iOS11 SRS-XB2, hope Apple can figure it out as soon as possible.

It is frankly abysmal that Apple manage to somehow break stuff that worked (fairly) well in previous versions.

Do they not do proper QA and testing?

Are they instead concerned with making sure the animated turds work?

I have had problems since the upgrade to iOS 11 with Bluetooth connection to my car, earbuds, and wireless speakers - really poor connection that is just like static. I did all the troubleshooting with no improvement. I called Apple Support and spent an hour basically starting from scratch my phone to factory settings - didn’t work. Apple says it’s not them, it’s the firmware on all other devices. Nice.

I want to roll back to iOS 10 but I’m afraid I’ll make thinks worse.

I too am having this problem.

Its not my XB2 as my Iphone 5 on IOS 7 runs perfectly, only started happening since V11.

.1 and .2 updates have not fixed it - so frustrating!
Same problem. Apple Support was nice when they told me it’s not their problem if the fix doesn’t work. It didn’t work. Very expensive phone, that I’m still paying on, that doesn’t work.

Yep they are washing their hands of it at the moment but if enough customers complain and or walk away from their products, they will eventually do something.
:(
Feel your pain.

I think it was iOS 8 that wreaked havoc on my bluetooth connectivity with my vehicle and other bluetooth devices. I made the mistake of upgrading to the latest iOS version within a day or two at the latest. I wasn't the only one with problems and it took a few weeks for Apple to admit to and address bluetooth in an update. Never again will I update until at least a .1 version unless I'm forced to do so by means of buying a new device where I don't have an option.

I realize this doesn't help you much @Nan209 but I feel your pain. Perhaps this is something to think about going forward. If enough people complain by means of providing Apple feedback directly maybe it gets their attention. It's worth a shot. I've provided 3 entries so far on my experiences with iOS 11. Hang in there and fingers crossed something gets fixed soon. In my reading here, it doesn't appear 11.1 is addressing bluetooth issues yet.

I actually went into an Apple store today and warranty replaced my AirPods for new ones because of this issue, after 3-5 minutes they constantly drop connection, search for my phone the. May reconnect, this happens repeatedly several times, after the exchange, it still kept happening, never had the issue with my 7 plus and IOS 10, now have an 8 plus with iOS 11 and have all kinds of issues.

Same exact issues as everyone else here. I initially thought it was my 7+ running iOS 11 as the audio would consistently cut in and out and eventually just disconnect from my Sony SRS-XB40. It wasn’t until I got my 8+ that I realized it was doing the same thing, my 8+ is running iOS 11.1 B2 btw.

Here’s the twist though. My bro-in-law has a 6S on iOS 11.02 and he has zero issues maintaining a stable connection to the SRS-XB40 so I’m not sure it’s iOS related at this point? Might be hardware?

With 11.1 Beta 2 I'm seeing connection loss between my Air 2 and Bose QuietComfort 20 Bluetooth earphones. Doesn't seem to occur when within an app but rather when switching apps. I have to cycle Bluetooth on and off, sometimes more than once.

Correction: I'm mixing up my earphones. My Bluetooth earphones are the Bose SoundSport; the 20's are wired.

I'm actually very fed up with these Bluetooth issues and Apple telling me it's not on their and they're getting little complaints on this and then brushing me off.

I upgraded to an iPhone 8 Plus on Sep 25, since I've had it, the thing won't stay connected to my 2015 Nissan Murano Platinum and it constantly loops through disconnecting and reconnecting over and over and over, etc.

Prior to calling Apple support I unpaired and re-paired the iPhone to my SUV numerous times, deleted the connections on both the iPhone and SUV numerous times and paired as new, reset network settings on my iPhone numerous times, reset all settings on my iPhone numerous times, did 3 restores from backup and when all that didn't work I finally called Apple Support and between 3 different phone calls between last week and this week and 5 hours of my time they're unable to help...

Their answer, the problem is not on their end and I need to go to Nissan to have them update the firmware on my Murano's infotainment system. So I did that on Saturday and guess what, the problem is still there. I then erased my iPhone and setup as new, problem is still there.

On a last ditch effort, I decided to go to the Apple Store yesterday to try and exchange my iPhone for another new one thinking I had a buggy Bluetooth radio to see if that might fix the problem as I thought that yesterday was the last day on the 14 day return policy. I was wrong, turns out it isn't 14 days from when you bought the device, it's 14 days starting on the exact day you bought the device. My math was I bought it on Monday Sep 25 and Mon Oct 9 would be 2 weeks later from counting 14 days on a calendar however turns out Sun Oct 8 was 2 weeks later so I guess my bad on the math by not counting Sep 25 as day one.

The solution they do give me is that I can make an appointment for a "possible" warranty repair or replacement through the Genius Bar however their first available slot is 4 days later because they're overwhelmed with Genius Bar appointments and then they also tell me that most likely when I come in for my appointment that they probably won't be able to help me because there is nothing wrong with the Bluetooth on the iPhone 8/8+ nor with iOS 11, 11.0.1, 11.0.2 or 11 beta 2, nobody has came in reporting a similar problem and that the problem is solely with my car and it's "out of date" archaic software from 2 years ago and that I might need to buy a hands free kit to mount on my visor to use with my iPhone if I want to "enjoy" hands free calling in my car. Enjoy? Seriously?

Aren't they supposed to make this stuff backwards compatible with older Bluetooth technology within reason? You mean to tell me that every manufacturer in the universe has to update their hardware and software to work with the almighty Apple eco-system whenever Apple releases something new? If that was the case, nothing that was previously made within the past few years would work with anything new of theirs. Maybe I'm just over demanding and am just expecting too much...

My Nissan is only 2 years old, this is crazy, they're acting like I have generation 1 Bluetooth from 10 years ago or something like that and that I'm expecting too much from my new $1000 phone. If this problem carries over to the iPhone X, I bet there will be an uproar.

Sorry for the long winded post, I'm just REALLY frustrated from the run around I keep getting.

the problem I keep having now on 11.1 is that when I'm on a call, could be handset, could be airpods, the phone will randomly connect to ANOTHER bluetooth device WHILE IM N THE CALL! It's a total PIA as I don't know if the call has dropped or it has switched.

Today I was on a call, speaking and it switched from handset to my home cordless bluetooth system. I had been talking about three minutes before I asked if anyone was there. The connection doesn't drop, but nobody can hear me and I can't hear anyone else

Okay. I've been testing with my 5th generation iPad running iOS 11. It's been playing music on my Sony SRS-XB2 for several hours now with no stuttering at all. (Unlike my iPhone running the same OS.) Weird.
Exactly the same for me the past 2-3 weeks. I had my wife's Ipad Air 2 play spotify thru my Sony XBS speaker for 3 plus hours the other day, but my Iphone 7 keeps cutting in/out etc. Both have IOS 11, but the Ipad is perfectly fine!! I have been with Apple support for 4 hours the past 2 days to no avail..they do know about the issue apparently though :)

So Apple are blaming third-party hardware now, are they?

Well, I have the issue with my Apple iPhone and my Beats Solo 3 Wireless headphones.

Who will they blame there, I wonder?

I, like many others, are perhaps getting heartily sick of every time an iOS upgrade comes, Apple break stuff. Important stuff.

And yet they expect us to pay a "premium" for their hardware? I never had this issue with iOS10. Only iOS11.

Please, explain that one to me.

On a whim I loaded 11.1 Public Beta 2 onto my iPhone 8 Plus on Monday evening after I got home from the Apple Store.

So far (knock on wood) Bluetooth has had a solid connection in my Nissan all day yesterday and this morning. No disconnections and everything has worked as it was working on my prior iPhone 7 Plus before I upgraded to the iPhone 8 Plus.

If this keeps up and everything keeps working then that tells me there is definitely a problem with iOS 11, 11.0.1 & 11.0.2 and that Apple is full of it that there is nothing wrong with their perfect OS and that the problem was with my vehicle.

I'm hoping I didn't just jinx myself with the BT connectivity by posting this, LOL.

My AirPods will connect strong, then degrade over time. I can physically put my hand over my phone in my pocket and it'll start disconnecting.

I've exchanged my AirPods and replaced the phone both at the Apple Store, they're still having the same issues as above.

Hope this is fixed soon. I wonder if it has to do with power supplied to the chip?

Contemplating starting a separate thread, as the issues I'm seeing here seem to be quite different in nature.

My details/equipment: iPhone 7+; 2016 Nissan bluetooth; iOS 11.0.2

--> Overall, bluetooth in car and on phone works perfectly. I can make phone calls, listen to music, and podcasts with no issues. Things work very well.

My problem:

Oddly, if I am listening to a podcast in my car and decide to make or take a phone call, the podcast audio does not stop. Instead, it continues to play in the background, only now it is routed and now coming through the phone app's audio (it sounds more fuzzy and garbled now compared to the normal Podcast audio quality), while the phone call proceeds to take place. So essentially, the podcast audio continues simultaneously during phone calls. This same problem happens when I receive calls as well.

--> This problem does not happen with any other audio apps, such as for music. E.g., if I am playing music through iTunes or Spotify and a call comes in (or if I make a call), the music audio stops and the phone call proceeds as normal.

My "solution": Pausing or stopping the podcast does not work. Even if I click the pause button on my phone, the podcast continues to play during the phone call. The podcast audio only plays on my end -- the other caller cannot hear it on theirs. The only thing that seems to stop the podcast is if I swipe quit the podcast app altogether. Only then does the podcast audio fade away and the phone call proceeds as normal. This is very disruptive, however, and extremely dangerous while driving, as it requires a couple of steps to sort through.

My girlfriend who also drives as a Nissan (2015) also experiences this. She also has an iPhone 7 and is on the latest iOS.

I've searched and been unable to find other folks reporting this issue. I sent something into Apple, but don't expect a response. This didn't used to be a problem, and it's quite bizarre.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is it an issue with Nissans? Do other people have this issue in their cars?

Thanks!

I have a similar issue with iPhone 8 Plus, and Jabra bluetooth. The Jabra connects to ALL of my devices except my new iPhone. Like you, I spent 3 hours with tech support at Apple and 2.5 with Verizon… and another half hour with Jabra support. Then Verizon exchanged my phone (I made the 14 day deadline), but the bluetooth issue was not resolved. Apple must think that consumers are a bunch of walking ATM machines and have the ability to go out and buy new gadgets. Today, I downloaded the latest bug fix, but that didn’t resolve the issue either - I performed a hard and soft reboot and reset network settings - still does not work. Maybe I’ll trade my 8plus for a 6s; at least I know I won’t have to trash my headset. Good Grief!

I'm having lots of issues on a new iPhone 8+ that I didn't have on my 7+ in the brief time that I ran ios 11 on it. Car won't connect or stay connected, BeatsX headphones drop connection multiple times a day, can't keep keyboard connection without having to reset Bluetooth several times a day. It's getting pretty bad. All this stuff has worked fine for years with previous iPhones.

I have two pair of AirPods and they have been problematic since I got my 8+ it is worse at my shop for some reason. When I am near my metal framed door they get glitchy and can disconnect. Now this happed with my 7 too and eventually got better. Now it’s back and worse.

On a whim I loaded 11.1 public beta 2 on Monday evening and my BT has worked rock solid on that version from Monday night to last night.

Then last night I wiped my phone and installed the latest 11.0.3 update that came out yesterday to see if they fixed anything and BT went back to not working. There is DEFINITELY an issue with 11, 11.0.1, 11.0.2 and 11.0.3. I don't think it's the 8+, I think it's the current builds of iOS11 outside of the beta versions since beta 2 works perfect in respects to BT and everything else doesn't.

From Apple's previous responses to me, I'm surprised that haven't suggested yet I replace my Nissan with a vehicle more compatible with their software, LOL.

As an update to my particular bluetooth issue using iOS 11, it was fixed by a software patch of the radar detector company. I realize this may not hold true for the others with issues, but in my case it was not apparently Apple. These seem to be very difficult to pinpoint and most of the time, both companies push blame on the other. I do know that owners of said products were very vocal and I feel as though we pushed the company to work with Apple and provide a solution. Here's hoping those of you with issues find resolution soon.

I restored my 8+ and it is better not perfect but a lot better. I have way to many audible books just the unread ones take all night to download them.

UPDATE!!!! My bluetooth is working! While talking to a Verizon rep at the local store about an unrelated issue, I mentioned my bluetooth blues. In 20 minutes Lance had my bluetooth connection repaired. The problem was related to a corrupt backup on iTunes. For some reason, the backup from my 1st phone corrupted the 2nd phone’s ability to connect. Although I had to backup my contacts from the cloud and reinstall all of my apps, I am SOOOOOO happy now! Hope this helps someone else.
