I just left the Apple store in Charlotte, NC, where they told me that iOS 11 has a known issue with AirPods and that their engineers are working on a fix, I,had both airpodsmreplaced because of this and they said something should come out from Apple when a fix is found.

with it was not jsut he AirPods but my PayPal card reader anomy square card reader neither will connect on my phone that was resorted. they work fine now that it was a clean install.

I have the iPhone 8 w/ iOS 11.1.
I also have a Mercedes CLA which has 2 BT connections: one for telephone and messaging purposes and another for a proprietary app in the iPhone (the Mercedes ME Adapter) which connects to an adapter connected directly to the car.

I had an iPhone 5s w/ iOS 10.0.3 and it worked perfectly w/ the two connections simultaneously.

Now, w/ the iPhone 8 the BT is always dropping. I had to disconnect the ME Adapter in order to have the phone working without dropping the BT connection.
I’ve read the previous comments and I’m amazed with alleged Apple’s response... this is a serious issue for everybody.
I did everything:
1) resetting the system;
2) removed the adapter;
3) restored the BT connections;
4) removed the app;
5) factory settings in the iPhone;
6) restored the iPhone...
And guess what: the problem persisted (even with the newest 11.1 which I’ve just tested).
I’m just sick and tired of all this!

It's not alleged, it's actual. Just reach out to their support or book a genius bar appointment and they'll tell you to do everything you've already done and then insist that it's not their phone or iOS 11 and that it's a Mercedes issue and that the dealer will need to do a firmware update on your infotainment system to make your car compatible with their phone, which won't fix the issue.

My BT wouldn't stay connected to my 2015 Nissan Murano that I recently traded in and it won't stay connected to my 2016 Acura TLX that replaced my Nissan and it won't stay connected to my Wife's 2012 Nissan Murano. My wife's iPhone 6 however has no issue staying to connected to her car or my Acura. I'm beyond frustrated.

I´m from Portugal and we don´t have those genius bar appointments here.
I´ve just sent an e-mail to Mercedes addressing my issue.
Mercedes states in the web that the iPhone 8 is supported by the system ( http://www.mercedes-benz-mobile.com/pt/pt/x117:2015-03:2016-05/quicksearch/?7439 ). Well, actually it is... but not simultaneously with the ME adapter attached thereon (which was working perfeclty with my previous iPhone).

UPDATE:
I’ve just tested my other iPhone (a 5s) with iOS 11.1 in my Mercedes and there is no problem with the 2 BT connections in the car.
Tried with my iPhone 8 again and it drops the BT connections instantly.
The Mercedes rep told me today that the problem must be related with the BT version (iPhone 8: 5.0; iPhone 5s: 4.0).
I.e., I’ve just confirmed that the problem is not from iOS 11 but from the mobile itself.

I have iOS 11 on iPhone 6 iPad Air 2 and iPhone 8. Only the 8 has issues with srs-xb2. Breaks up and drops, yet works fine with my Sony sound bar. Something very peculiar about the SRS speaker. If anyone finds a solution please let me know. I have tried all the reboots etc to no avail.
The Sony firmware is not compatible with the new iPhones. My XB2 worked fine on my iPhone 6. The iPhone 8 has Bluetooth 5.0 the latest Bluetooth software. I checked on Sony’s website, there is no update available. I think Apple should of added the capability to play a Bluetooth device that is only a few years old. I went through a big hassle with Apple support to find out what was wrong. I ended up driving 1 1/2 to an Apple store because after 3 hours of talking to Apple support on the phone, trying everything I was told I needed to get the phone replaced. After long drive the Apple genius told me about the Bluetooth software issue.

I just want to advise that i updated to 11.1 yesterday and my Sony SRS-XB2 is now working correctly!
I have listened for approx 4 hours, no issues, previously on 11.01, 02 and 03, it was having problems as per my previous posts but now its working perfectly.
Hopefully everyone else who has had the issues i have had with the Sony Blu Tooth will have the same result once 11.1 is on their devices.
Thanks.

Hi there, I had the same issue but 11.1 has fixed it. Hopefully you get the same result, i am using a 7 plus and SRS XB2.

I had Bluetooth connectivity issues between my Air 2 tablet and Bose QuietComfort earphones in early 11 releases but don't see them in 11.1 Beta 3. Is the issue(s) isolated to the iPhone?

After updating to iOS 11.1, the bluetooth connection with my Sony XB30 is now working fine. Hoping this would be fine after the next updates!

I can reliably get my iPhone X or iPhone 7 Plus to stay connected to my BMW after resetting and re-pairing. But that all goes away after the phone is disconnected and then reconnects.

I’m running a brand new iPhone X and getting the same behavior as my iPhone 7.

Something in iOS 11 has broken Bluetooth.

Is your iPhone 7 on 11.1? If not, update to 11.1 and that should help with the 7, should.

For the X, it's most likely because your X has a BT 5.0 radio in it while your 7 has a BT 4.2 radio. Seems the infotainment systems in cars don't like BT 5.0 and chances are the car manufactures aren't going to do much to upgrade the infotainment systems to be compatible and they're leaving that on Apple to update their phones to work with the cars. Apple on the other hand isn't doing squat either and they keep directing people to their car dealers to get their cars updated. It's an annoying and frustrating circle.

I have a 2016 Acura TLX with tech and advanced packages so my car isn't exactly old either and I can't keep my iPhone 8 Plus connected to it. I also can't keep my phone connected to my Wife's 2012 Nissan Murano however her iPhone 6 on 11.1 has no issue staying connected to her car or my car. I'm convinced it's the BT 5.0 radio causing the issue even though I don't have any actual scientific proof.

Same garbage they told me through online chat, support over the phone and in store genius appointment.

Yep, similar issues still with 11.1 and connectivity to Beats headphones (note, that's Beats, as in Beats as owned by Apple).

Both pairs of Beats I have (a Solo3 and Powerbeats) work perfectly with my MacBook. However on my iPhone 6, I get random disconnect/reconnect events, almost like the Bluetooth stack on the phone is crashing and restarting. This only started with 11.0

11.1 is a little bit better in that the disconnects don't happen as frequently but I still get them.

Apple have - clearly - fundamentally broken something related to Bluetooth in 11.x. regardless of whatever half-arsed excuses their support comes out with. It worked perfectly well in 10.x

I'm running 11.2 public beta 2 right now on my 8 Plus, installed it on Tue night and so far yesterday and today I haven't had my BT disconnect from my Acura. I'm not getting too excited yet but so far so good the past 2 days. I'll keep an eye on it and see how it keeps performing.

I have an iPad Pro 10.5 and an iPhone 8, both running ios 11.1. A Jabra Bluetooth device will not connect to the iPhone but will connect to the iPad. A no name Bluetooth headset works fine on the iPad but drops out every 15 minutes or so on the iPhone.

Staring to think it could be a could be a combination of hardware differences and software.
