On a whim I loaded 11.1 public beta 2 on Monday evening and my BT has worked rock solid on that version from Monday night to last night.

Then last night I wiped my phone and installed the latest 11.0.3 update that came out yesterday to see if they fixed anything and BT went back to not working. There is DEFINITELY an issue with 11, 11.0.1, 11.0.2 and 11.0.3. I don't think it's the 8+, I think it's the current builds of iOS11 outside of the beta versions since beta 2 works perfect in respects to BT and everything else doesn't.

From Apple's previous responses to me, I'm surprised that haven't suggested yet I replace my Nissan with a vehicle more compatible with their software, LOL.

Nice, I’m going to load b2 tonight.

UPDATE!!!! My bluetooth is working! While talking to a Verizon rep at the local store about an unrelated issue, I mentioned my bluetooth blues. In 20 minutes Lance had my bluetooth connection repaired. The problem was related to a corrupt backup on iTunes. For some reason, the backup from my 1st phone corrupted the 2nd phone’s ability to connect. Although I had to backup my contacts from the cloud and reinstall all of my apps, I am SOOOOOO happy now! Hope this helps someone else.

I’m trying to avoid doing a fresh install, but that’s probably my next step if the public beta doesn’t resolve. Probably time for one anyway.

I am having the same issue. I updated to 11.0.2 and when I try to use my hands free calling in my 2013 Chevy Silverado I get a message the my phone does not support speech recognition. Before I updated it worked perfect. Apple said maybe my truck needed updated. If I use Siri I can make a call through my hands free. I have blue tooth headphones that I have some problems with since updating also. Hope Apple finds the problem and gets an update out soon.

Update :just got a call from Apple. They wanted to know the vin on my pickup and also the firmware. Why would the blue tooth work for 3 years with the same phone and not work after the update?

so today i was searching apple forums regarding the bluetooth issues with iPhone 7 in particular. i read a post from Sept 2016 and the guy had exactly same issue I am having with his Ford and bluetooth speakers. He tried something: Turned on airplane made, then reactivated the bluetooth, said it worked flawless (so you are disconnecting you cellular signal in essence). I just tried the same thing and streamed spotify to my Sony XRS speaker without a hitch! I then went out to my care and it connected to the sync bluetooth and starting playing songs again (which it stopped doing about 3 weeks ago). He said that it was a cellular issue with bluetooth which right now, I would agree. I don't understand why at all but I can assure you all it worked perfect for the first time since I upgraded to Its 11 and the since upgrades (11.01, 11.02, 11.03) I was previously on IOS 10.3.3 and had zero issues with bluetooth or streaming.

Have just spent most of the evening trying to get iPhone 8 with iOS11.0.3 to work with a Sony GTK-XB5 where it was experiencing repeated drop-outs and disconnections; the 8 works with every other Bluetooth device in the house fine, and every other Apple device in the house works fine the the XB5.

Have finally had success by disabling the AAC and LDAC codec support on the XB5 (via Sony's SongPal app), leaving just the lower data rate SBC, which appears to have resulted in a robust connection.

Logged back in after some time to search this up. Been using the same bluetooth speaker for 3 years. After updating to iOS 11, I can't be more than 3 feet away without my music cutting out when before I could be on either side of the house and it would work flawlessly. Same issue with my AirPods. If I have my phone in my back or front pocket, the music will cut out ridiculously. I had to go back to using my EarPods (talk about first world problems :p)

Apparantly the App doesnt support the SRS XB2. (tho it says its supports the SRS XB20 - weird) It wont detect it.
I tried pressing the reset button with a pin to reset the speakers - no luck, have also removed from blu tooth devices - no luck. I also tried the flight mode trick - no luck. Doesnt DC with my Head phones which are JBL but DC's constantly from Sony speakers and occasionally in my car (16 WRX)

11.3 hasnt fixed it, hopefully the next one will or i have a $200 paperweight.

I have an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11.0.3 installed. I’m having the same problem as some of the guys here.

I tried connecting my phone to my newly bought Sony SRS-XB30 bluetooth speaker. I have been experiencing constant drop outs in the bluetooth connection. It’s weird that I can’t finish a song without the constant dropout of bluetooth. The song suddenly becomes cracky (loses the bluetooth connection then reconnects to bluetooth again) then cracky again after some time.

On the iPhone 5s running iOS 11.0.3, it happened once, but didn’t persist again after forgetting the sony speaker, then set up bluetooth again (not sure if this will happen again tho). Can’t have any luck with my 7 plus!! I think Apple should push an update for this!

One other thing I have noticed since upgrading to iOS 11; my Fitbit Charge HR now takes significantly longer to synchronise via Bluetooth when I trigger a manual “sync” through the Fitbit app.

Previously this used to take around 30 seconds.

Since iOS 11 it can take several minutes to fully synchronise.

So I have slow performance with my Fitbit, and random disconnects with two different pairs of Beats headphones (Powerbeats and Solo3, both of which work perfectly when paired with my MacBook), and Apple are still claiming there is no issue with Bluetooth in iOS 11 and it is all the peripheral manufacturers’ problem.

Is that right?

I had Bluetooth connectivity issues between my Air 2 tablet and Bose QuietComfort earphones in early 11 releases but don't see them in 11.1 Beta 3. Is the issue(s) isolated to the iPhone?

To be honest I haven't really tested my iPad, because most of the kit I use with my iPhone. Both sets of headphones though work perfectly on my MacBook and did also work fine on the iPhone - until iOS 11.

I have had issues with iOS 11.0.3 on the 8 Plus with the Sony SRS XB3 speaker as well. It will hold a song for about 2 minutes then start cutting out and eventually cut off connection. I’d agree it’s a specific with the 8 Plus.

I also have an 6S Plus and iPad Air 2 with 11.0.3 and the connection on the Sony is fine. I’ve even noticed my Apple Watch Series 2 takes longer to connect to my 8 Plus on iOS 11 than it did on my old 6S Plus. Just seeing if that’s been the case with others? Seems the Sony Bluetooth speakers have been a problem with most iPhone 8 users. Glad I found this thread! C’mon 11.1!

Using iOS 11.1 Beta and having Bluetooth Stuttering in my 2012 Volvo S60. Whew! Was worried it was the car system, glad I came here to check.

11 and the 11.1 betas have been connecting and then disconnecting constantly in my car, whereas 10 was more or less solid. This is a new car, and I've been thinking it's a car issue, as---how can Apple screw something as mature Bluetooth up? Do they really change Bluetooth that much from os version to os version? Looks like maybe I was wrong and is IS Apple and ios...

Not sure what’s going on but iOS 11.1 B3/B4 seems to have fixed the issue for me, I’m not longer getting disconnected after an hour of playback on my Bluetooth speaker. It used to disconnect within less than 10 minutes!

Same problem here. SE started acting up with Sony SRS-XB2 immediately after iOS11 upgrade. Went and bought an iPhone 8 and same thing. Works great with all other Bluetooth devices, including Airpods and Toyota Prius. Totally unusable with the Sony.

I decided to sign up for the IOS 11.1 beta 4 program yesterday. Thus far, it has fixed all bluetooth issues to Sony Speaker, My Ford Sync 3 connects perfectly. Notifications are back again and hectic feedback has returned. First time I have done this beta thing but so far my phone works as it should. Hope that helps someone here....

thanks god...i hope 11.1 will fix problem with my Hyundai....

Beta 4 randomly disconnects from time to time with my Bluetooth audio capability in my car. I've seen it happen 3 times since updating last week. Hopefully beta 5 is better.

Nope, I’ve tried everything, still cuts out. It’s the same on my wife’s iPhone @11 as well- no change. Now My old iPad, which is stuck at 9.somethng, works perfectly so it’s definitely software related...

I have the same problem. 11.0.03 did not fix it. (iPhone 7 /Sony srs XB 20. ) My old ipad works fine. Starting to believe there is a hardware issue.

I had to reset my phone to new and now Bluetooth is pretty good. apple said it may be some corruption in the backup.

Same issue here with my GTK-XB7 speaker. Choppy sound quality randomly disconnecting from Bluetooth every 2-3 minutes. If anyone has a solution please let me know. I use my speakers everyday, so this is really annoying, and of course Apple Support is no help :(

Same issue here, I've been on the phone with Sony. They know about this and are telling me it's my problem not theirs.
