With the phone app not working, I think the next beta will not be the “GM” build. We will see at least a sixth beta prior the final release.

This is off topic, but what you stated is not entirely true.
Clearly you have never worked retail at this time of year. I just worked a 48hr week at Walmart, whose Black Friday sale is on Thanksgiving day. The only day we close is on Christmas day. But yes, "normal businesses", such as Apple are closed for a long period, around the holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The new betas will most likely come, as has been stated previously, after Apple is back and running again.
That seems to be how it typically works. Sometimes its the exact same build# and sometimes they drop the "5" and "letter" in the last beta and push it as a new version.
Hey, I work at Target. I’m aware. Outside of retail, practically no one worked.
No one here knows for sure (other than one member seems to) but most likely yes. Within a week or so is the general consensus. Welcome to the forums!

I really hope it’s a new version, because it needs some fixes. And with the madscotsman saying no more betas for it, I sure hope the final release is a new build!
With all those phone app issues popping up lately, there will be another beta prior the “GM”. My guess is, there will be at least a sixth beta delaying IOS 11.2. Apple can not afford to release an update where the main functionality does not work for 100 percent of the user.

It was for the macOS. I don't remember all these .1,.2,.3 iterations taking so long to debug. In fairness, I only started with the 4th gen. of iPhone. Even so...
Not even that many years ago a x.1 release would take almost half a year for iOS.
Thanks for the reminder. Maybe it's because I'm new to the iOS beta-thing (testing v4 now) When you're old, time plays tricks on you.
Actually iOS 2,4,8,9,10,11 all went past x.1.x. It seems to be the norm for all the latest versions for the past 4 years in a row.
Let s hope we will have a new beta this week. Yes I know what MadScotsman said...but let s just hope
No more betas. Which means most likely the final will come next week with a new build number.
