Sounds like the issue was, or could have been bad enough that they decided to deal with it ASAP.Yes I know the reason but still wtf. I guessed they dont release a Update and wait until next week
Didn’t iOS 10.3 beta 1 come out after the holidays last year once 10.2 was released? It was a gap from December to January before the first beta was released.I am happy they dropped it early though because that means 11.3 is also preponed and we may get it next week as opposed to two weeks later

Edit:
iOS 10.2 officially released: Dec 12
iOS 10.3 (Beta 1): Jan 24
But, we shall see...
iOS 11 has more frequent updates than 10, not to mention 10.2 was released around Christmas while this time it’s been released quite a few weeks before Christmas.
Actually it doesn’t have more releases.
iOS 10 to 10.2 were 7 releases.
10
10.0.1
10.0.2
10.0.3
10.1
10.1.1
10.2 — December 12, 2016
iOS 11 to 11.2 were 8 releases.
11
11.0.1
11.0.2
11.0.3
11.1
11.1.1
11.1.2
11.2 — December 2, 2017
Edit: it’s 7 and 8 releases. My bad.
You can delete the iOS 10.0.1 release as iOS 10.0.0 was never available. Apple shipped directly iOS 10.0.1...
Huh? I thought iOS 10 was released then later on that day 10.0.1 was released? I remember there was some major bug that Apple was trying to fix.
The initial release for iPhone 6s and below (all iPads and iPod touch) was iOS 10.0.1 . iPhone 7 and iPhone 7plus shipped with iOS 10 but needed to update prior setting up the device.
Unexpected day and time in addition to being released less than 24 hours after a beta. This was all due to the notification loop/December 2nd bug.Can somebody attempt to explain the wtf’s?
Were more bugs introduced during the betas that haven’t been resolved? Or they were introduced and 11.2 resolves them?
Or is it just an unexpected day?
10.0 was a GM (beta) so you could have had it if you were on the beta channel. But official release day it was 10.0.1.Interesting. Pretty sure my 6s upgraded to iOS 10 on that day but my coworker iPhone 6 was having issues upgrading to it and he had to use iTunes to get it to work.
10.0 was a GM (beta) so you could have had it if you were on the beta channel. But official release day it was 10.0.1.
10.0.1 Release

10.0 GM (technically 10.0.1)

I think we can now safely put to bed the response “Apple has always [or Apple has never] done x....” to any argument about what they’ll do next. Virtually nothing is off the table now!
Nothing off the table but that doesn’t mean history isn’t useful as a guide.. these were extenuating circumstances after allI think we can now safely put to bed the response “Apple has always [or Apple has never] done x....” to any argument about what they’ll do next.
