so we probably not getting an update today for the 13 month bug?
At this point it seems unlikely. Probably nothing until 1/3 (at the earliest) and pray something bad doesn’t happen 1/2.

Going back 10 years of history. iOS has never received an update this time of the year. It’s always 1-2 weeks before Xmas. And then 1-2 weeks after New Years.

Today or 2018 or as we learned recently tomorrow.

The only reason why it came out on the Saturday night was because of the bug. If the bug does not present itself today, then no. We won’t see something tomorrow. As it’s alresdy tomorrow in parts of the world and there are no reports of the bug. I’m pretty confident nothing will come out tomorrow.

A lot of companies are closed today for the holiday. So who knows what Apple is doing.

As said before, an issue might not pop up as early as the early stages of January 2nd next to the date line.

Meanwhile more and more “features” seems to pop up within iOS 11: http://leancrew.com/all-this/2017/12/undoubling/

Well one thing Apple’s apology note confirmed was the negative battery impact immediately following an iOS update:

“we initially thought this was due to a combination of two factors: a normal, temporary performance impact when upgrading the operating system as iPhone installs new software and updates apps...”

Apple is unpredictable lately.
" Apple never did that." A sentence from the past.
While you are definitely correct. We know for certain Apple wont release an update on New Years Eve. :D Not only is it a Holiday, but also a Sunday.

Which was kind of known, sometimes being linked to "indexing" or something similar, and often basically why it takes a few days and charging cycles to get a decent idea of what the battery life is really like.

It’s always been suspected, but it’s nice to see Apple confirm those statements we all make regarding battery life 24–48 hours post install.

We go back to functioning how we did 20 years ago? lol 24 hours without my phone going off might not be the worst thing in the world.
20 years ago I had a landline. Now I dont. And the post office will be closed too so cant go buy stamps to mail a letter. :)

Seriously though I suspect there will be no catastrophic issues or Apple would certainly have addressed it already.

just not expecting any update till 2018. probably 11.2.5 is next (no 11.2.2) followed up by 11.3 with the new battery features.

X.3 beta typically starts the 2nd week in January if I'm remembering correctly. Probably a final 11.2.5 beta next week with the final release the following week.
