Those of you posting issues with iOS 11, let’s do that in the thread for that. This thread is purely for speculation on upcoming betas. It was created so people wouldn’t devote pages in the substantive thread obsessing over when the next beta would come out. Don’t want to mess up all that good speculation with actual substance here!

I text Tim asking about beta 3 here’s his reply:

Tim: sup homie! What’s your unfit ass not doing at the gym. Complete those rings bra! Yeh dev beta 3 bout to drop today. Peace out!

Yeah that's not right. Tim doesn't even make any decisions at Apple. How would he know? No one ever tells him what is going on at that company. Source? Me, who talked to him a little while ago.

I do think there's a possibility of it happening today. Almost certainly not tomorrow, though. Why chance a big glitch that messes everyone's phone up for a weekend?

If developer beta is released tomorrow and a glitch will affect the phones of the ones who install it isn't such a big deal because developer beta isn't meant for primary device...
If this happens the public beta 2 may release Tuesday...so it won't be a problem and Apple will have time to make it opperable for public beta

You do realise the agreement when you install the beta purposely states that you aren’t using it on a primary device for a reason right?

If you can’t handle a release potentially taking your device out of action then you shouldn’t be using a beta on that device.

If there were to be a major bug, Apple still wouldn't want to leave all those developer devices non-functional over the weekend. Friday releases make no sense in this context.

It wouldn't be the end of the world but it's simply an empirical fact that Apple has tended to release betas at the start of the week. The historical count of beta releases drops with each day into the week until you get to Friday where you only get a handful in recent history (e.g. last 5 years).

We can speculate that part of the reason may be to avoid leaving issues unfixed over the weekend.

It's a bit outdated now but here are the release day counts for all iOS 8 and 9 betas

Monday = 22 (48%)
Tuesday = 12 (26%) (74% by this day)
Wednesday = 8 (17%) (91% by this day)
Thursday = 4 (9%) (100% by this day)
Friday = 0
Saturday = 0
Sunday = 0

Or what about beta 5 for iOS 6.1, which was released on a Saturday? My bet is still on Monday the 10th, though.

Well, in reality, how many of those are X.0 release...? None.

Considering there is a proven-accurate source that has pegged the 10th, it is factual that we are just being silly.

If the source is correct, the 10th could be the public beta. Dev beta today makes sense. Probably 1PM EST, possibly 4PM EST.

Actually 10.0.1 was in reality a x.0 if I recall. Never actually released 10.0.0. (again if memory serves, I know there was one of those that happened to). And the point was Thursdays is a common day for iOS releases.
