I work at a software company and we have a policy to never release a new version on a Friday (mainly because I don't want to come in and work on a weekend to fix a critical bug and I am in charge of the development staff!).

Okay is that apples policy?

I think we can reason from the relatively few Friday releases that this is, in fact, Apple's policy. I agree with those who say that Apple does care if a beta messes up many thousands of devices over a weekend. It might just be that they don’t want the aggravation, or they don’t want the bad press or they genuinely care about their customers' and developers' experiences, even in a beta. Take your pick, but the evidence is there.

Well I think that we can all agree at this point that it’s not coming out on a Saturday or a Sunday. See you all Monday or Tuesday.

Someone needs to make a calendar of release dates. I’ll bet it would get a ton of hits.
It's hard because a lot of websites, even macrumors didn't track every single beta during that time. Is very difficult to even find pre-iOS 4 betas.

Thanks for info guys, will I get notified of next beta update?

You will if you hang out here!!

If you have profile already installed, you will have the ability to download as soon as the beta is released. However, you won't get an actual notification for 5-7 days. Best to follow along here or wherever you typically get Apple news.

So when next beta is released how do I go about installing it?

ios11 is the first beta I have ever installed.

Thanks in advance

Once you see that the update is available (if you are following this thread or check Macrumors daily), it will be available as an over the air update in the Software Update section of Settings. If you have the Public Beta profile installed, you’ll have to wait until the Public Beta is released, usually a day later than the developer beta.

Thanks for explaining @Chazzle

Sorry, can’t help you there. They are the same Beta though, just the developer gets access a bit earlier.

Maybe they worked overtime to make up for beta 2 bricking conondrum? I thought we previously had one or two sat/sun beta releases, but it’s rather late in the day.

I'm waiting for that guy to comment now saying it's not possible because it's not how Apple usually does things etc etc. Then pull out the broken clock quote again...

Precedents are nothing more than a guide for us to guess. Operative word being 'guess'. They'll release it when it's ready to be released they don't down tools because one of them suddenly realizes "Oh no, hang on we can't release it now, we've never done that before"

This is Apple we are talking about, where every single thing about every single product is the subject of endless speculation, educated guesses, wild-a** guesses, wishful thinking and flat out made up stuff.
