Dont know if this is new or server-side but in apple music, I got a lot more genres now. Before I just got hiphop/rap.

I noticed this too on Friday. It used to sort by your Favorite genres first (i.e. the ones you chose during the bubble selection when first setting up) but now it just displays all the genres.

Possibly a bug or Apple has just reverted the Browse section to include everything now rather than personalizing it. Maybe they’re moving it to the For You section but not sure.

Experiencing reduced battery life and an nearly always warm phone on this version. Can anyone relate?

Lol this is why I asked here first. I wouldn’t have gone through all of that when I know it’s software.

Oh I was almost 100% positive it was software related until I tested another XS Max on 12.1.1. Then I wasn't sure what to think. I was still 80/20 it was software/hardware, but I wanted to rule everything out.

The final version which was released seems to have an older modem firmware than what we have on beta 1. Also no OTA upgrade is showing, which could further indicate that the released version is actually older.

I guess we will get iOS 12.1.3 beta 2 at some point, as they have somehow skipped a version.
Yeah, sounds like what got released was based off of 12.1.1 and not the recent 12.1.2 beta. Seems like this one might become 12.1.3, or something else. (Apple probably should have gone with the approach they had before and started this as something like 12.1.5 to leave room for some more urgent bug fix releases, if needed.)

The beta you have is basically a later version. Consider what you have as being iOS 12.1.3 beta 1 essentially.

I'm still having the same issue with Image scrolling under INFO section of text messages after updating to 12.1.2

Likewise! No better for me. Maybe they pushed that fix to the next update.
Updating to iOS 12.1.2 public version that was just recently released, or this beta 1 version that was released a little earlier and is somewhat different?

Interesting. Modem firmware downgrade from the beta to 1.02.18 but carrier version 35.0 for T-Mobile on my Max
Same modem and carrier versions on Verizon XR.

It's there for older phones as well, like iPhone 7, for example (probably because in addition to the actually emphasized changes there are additional ones relating to the recent Qualcomm patent infringement ruling).
I believe the Qualcomm thing was already addressed in iOS 12 if i recall. There was an article published about that earlier.

Perhaps there are some other/newer things? Wasn't there some ruling just fairly recently in relation to Qualcomm?

Edit: Looks like there's something relating to it all: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/qualcomm-claims-apple-is-still-violating-chinese-court-order-despite-software-update-to-remove-patented-features.2161058/

Notifications are super buggy to me.

When clearing a stack using clear all. You see a random graphical error. Also it sometimes doesn’t clear on the first swipe.

Notifications don’t clear when checking them. Not consistently. For example Discord or Messenger.

After opening the app and checking the messages. It’s still on the notifications tray.

Yeah, notifications are super buggy - sometimes the lock and the time glitches into notifications, or when you clear all notifications, they jump in to the clock, with multiple glitchy animations. Both on an X, XS Max and 6S +.
