My Xs also appears to be stuck on Update Requested, but wifi is sketchy here at work, so I can't rule that out as a cause.

Edit: Never mind, it was the wifi.

This whole bluer screen is perplexing. Next person to update needs to take before and after pictures.

Just caught your post. I screenshotted Settings and will do so again after reboot. At the same time though, it's the color temperature of the screen itself, not the content.

Chiming in on the firmware front... iPhone XS on AT&T:

Modem: 1.01.27 (from 1.01.20-1)
Carrier: AT&T 34 (from AT&T 33.5.3)

My LTE speed tanked, unfortunately. 26 Mbps down on beta 2 and averaging about 7 Mbps down with beta 3.

I don't use TrueTone and I'm also experiencing a lot more cyan than before, so I don't think anybody is insane! Or I'm also insane. I guess either way works.
Might I ask where you are located?

I'm on AT&T in NYC. Not on the beta, but overall since launch I have been experiencing the horrible LTE/cellular reception. I get ~1-3mbps DL and regularly dropped calls. It's horrendous. I have been sending logs and sysdiagnose files to Apple to help their engineers investigate. I was hoping these betas with carrier and modem updates might address the issue. Doesn't seem like it though...

People are poor at remembering how things look and sound.

Like I’ve said, each screen is calibrated individually, Apple aren’t going to adjust screen calibration in a software update indiscriminately.
I think it's pretty shortsighted to issue a blanket statement like that. I've never had an issue with color temperature on my X and have always appreciated how TruTone works. There is without a doubt a noticeably bluer tint in this beta. Turning TruTone off makes it pretty extreme.

I'm not complaining though. If given a choice, I'll always go for a cooler screen.

And to answer the question about whether we're crazy, I work in a psychiatric hospital and interact with psychologists and psychiatrists on the daily so I think I would have found out by now.

Yeah not a screenshot but a picture from external camera of the display color on the same screen before and after.

I do use True Tone, so it hasn't affected me? I turned it off and it looks just as blue as I recall it looking before Beta 3.

Anyone switch from iPhone 7/8 to iPhone XS?

If so, have you noticed any eye strain, headaches or nausea after using the iPhone XS for a period of time?

Since I’ve had my XS, every day I develop a headache, then my eyes ache and eventually nausea. I’m healthy and don’t have any other ailments and this just started right after getting the XS.

iOSBry
Probably the idea that you just paid $1000+ for a phone makes you nauseated. :) JK

Update. After making several calls and streaming music in the car, I can now say for certain that my cell signal is rock solid. Prior to beta 3 my entire local area was a “fringe area” with frequent occurrences of dropped calls and no service. Now after the beta 3 update I rarely see below 2 bars. Its such a significant improvement that it’s as if they put up a new tower in town just last night. Beta 3 certainly adjusted something in a good way for me. For reference, I’m on t-mobile and have a Xs. Previous phones that were Intel modems we’re unable to pickup a signal at all, Qualcomm modems were spotty but worked.

Why on the betas like beta 3 the xs max goes red hot i noticed this on beta 1 is this damaging only 10 min usage and its so hot

Sounds like something is running constantly. I would look at iCloud or photo syncing or hung up email acct etc.

This might not be helpful, but just in case:

Sometimes when I’ve installed a beta, it changes certain settings that I don’t normally think about, like background app refresh, wifi assist, or location services for individual things. I suggest taking a deep look into your settings.

I’d also suggest turning on Low Power Mode, which shuts off a lot of background stuff, some of which might be the culprit.

Good luck, Dan!

Any one notice that since Beta 1 in contacts the primary and secondary for a contact has disappeared?

Maybe Apple have made it that the option is only available when you actually are using dual Sim.

Can you designate which SIM is primary? If not, which is considered Primary, the Esim, or the physical SIM?

Thank you :)

Could someone try to share a Siri Shortcut via Messages like you’re sending to a friend?

Mine bombs out with a “Failed to modify some records” error message when trying to create the link. Does this when trying to share any shortcut, so I suspect this may a 12.1 beta issue.

Same issue. It was not doing this about 3 hours ago when I copied a link and posted. Suspect issue may be on the server side.

I have a really odd issue that has only started since beta 3

One of my text replacement shortcuts no longer works. All the others do except this particular one.

I have tried deleting it and re typing it in
Tried turning off keyboard settings and back on
Signed out/in to iCloud Drive
Restart phone

Etc etc.

But nothing I do will get it to work and I can’t figure out why this one particular phrase will no longer work.

Ok I found the issue.

Apple has removed the ability to have text replacements which contain text and emojis. This is a tad irksome as the particular phrase I had was for when I’m away and I send a message for my wife and kids which contained some emojis.
