iOS 12 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I accidentally turned off the Screen Time feature and it's now greyed out. Any idea how to get it back?

Use 3D Touch on Control Center camera button and, without lifting your finger, slide to the QR option and release. Not quite as easy as a dedicated button, but close.

Would someone be so nice and post more pictures of the revamped "Books" app? Especially on the iPad would be great. :)
 
I’ve searched the forums and can’t find an answer so forgive me if it’s been answered already. Has anyone had issues installing on an 8 Plus with an aftermarket screen? The touchscreen becomes unresponsive after installing the beta but works fine when rolled back to 11.4.1
 
I’d like to add a bug:
In the Clocks app, setting the Timer noise to "Stop Playing" doesn't work - it instead reverts to "Radar (Default)". All the other noises seem to set correctly

hi all!
In the Keynote yesterday I saw that the lock screen showing a sleep symbol when starting do not Disturb and even more interesting showing a “good morning” message with weather forecast for the day.
Is this something new in IOS 12, or is this something you have had from before??
I’m living outside US and have never seen this good morning forecast before.

Probably my bad.
Maybe it only starts grouping once the lockscreen is "full". Just tested with text messages and only after 4 or 5 it grouped them. (as soon as the lockscreen had no more space).

It's part of the new Bedtime feature in iOS 12. While the dark screen feature while sleeping is active in this beta, the 'Good Morning' screen does not appear to be active (wasn't there when I woke this morning)

Does anyone know if the shortcuts app will be coming to the betas or do we have to wait for the public release in the fall?

Would love to have more controls over the notifications. Group notifications is like a good first step, but more options there would be great (for example I had to mute my family chat because there is so much going on. It would be nice to see 1 notification on the lockscreen that there are new messages, but not a scrollable list of 150 messages).

Maybe some more options of customizing the homescreen, some changes to widgets...i don't know. But for a year of work the changes don't impress me.
Okay, if it's fast and stable that's great. And for other people some changes are great too. But I don't mind Animojis or Memojis or whatever it's called, I don't use Siri and I'm not yet excited with AR...so maybe it's just me.

I guess I didn’t get my hopes up for springboard changes because rumors suggested it was moved to next year. But I hope this fall we get an always on display that shows the time and weather at least.

I'm assuming automatic groups message chats, emails threads, and that kind of stuff. Not notifications of entire app categories. I may be wrong, but it would be a shame if I am.
 
Is it possible to move from developer beta to public beta without losing data? I’m very inpatient and don’t think I can wait 2-3 weeks, but feel safer with a public...
 
I don't know how group notification works. It appear it only work for my previous notifications of the day but not for new ones.

Mail, and messages (from the same person) don't group at all when its new ones.

if it helps you, I left the house right after installing the beta on my phone and my watch is at 87% 7 hours later.

I believe new notifications group after a certain amount of time
