For the first time during iOS 12 beta's, I am getting some strange app behaviour requiring reboots to stop it.
Shell UK 'Fill Up and Go' app loses past data and wont work until rebooted.
Subway points card for UK didn't update correctly either.
Screentime is showing me as 5 mins Screen Off time which of course is ridiculous. I made two outings in the car for 45 mins each way with the phone off in a bag amongst other things, so something is not right there either.
Didnt have these issues on the previous betas
[doublepost=1535231850][/doublepost]To add that my battery, whilst now at 81% health, is doing ok for its ages unless hammered, then it dies quickly. LOL.
I don't think 12 hours out of it is bad at all with a lot of Facebook and Twitter use during the day. For a 3 year old phone it is doing well.
Geekbench scores are still the highest they have ever been on iOS 12.

I don’t understand how works the new battery setting.

When I charge my phone at 100%, it doesn’t reset the stats...

It does only show the time from the last 24 hours i think. It was much better before.
Yeah its a little confusing for sure. You can click on the time line and see the by hour usage though. But its still not a clear picture anymore, that was probably intentional. :)

Ya.. when we charge the phone, it shows a charge symbol at the battery area.. and the shows it reducing. The new battery analysis just show screen of and screen screen on time, and not the usage. And I don’t even understand how the screen off time is calculated. I understand the screen on time (I hope)...

Me neither. I would love a tutorial video about how to understand those informations.

The iPad was used longer than usual after the iOS update, which can affect the battery’s lifespan

Whaaaaaat??? I’m probably the only one who didn’t know that this was actually a thing. I think I’ll put the iPad down for a few moments, now...

By the way, loved the “ideas and suggestions” section, is a very helpful feature.

The english version of that is more precise. It says usage affects the battery life, rather than the lifespan.

The Brazilian-Portuguese translate of it its very confusing. It clearly says “ lifespan”, not “battery life”... Thanks for the original text!

But still, why does using the iPad “more than usual” after updating it affect the battery life? Isn’t using it “more than usual” at anytime as harmful?

Yup. My battery runs down every day!

No excessive drain for me.
Was thinking the same but I am trying to behave !

That's probably going to happen b/c orientation lock is "ON" per when locking/unlocking the phone; I can see why it did this b/c home screen is always portrait. (Unless, you have a iPhone+ model.) The orientation lock is always going to override first not to what your last orientation was per which ever app you had open at the time when locking the phone/off. Not really seeing this as a glitch.

A little orientation glitch is expected here and there on any beta !

Check out my glitch !

Black line on right side when in landscape Mode on iPhone 7 Plus on notification screen. For those that don’t know you can use notification screen and control centre in landscape mode but only after using an app like a safari for example in landscape mode.

I think a lot of people use - or even just check - their devices significantly more after upgrades, often without being conscious of it. Then they note that their battery is at whatever percentage sometime before they normally see that level and attribute it to “worse battery life”, rather than simply greater usage. Seen it a lot over the years here. Oftentimes the same people will note that it’s “settled down” later but really their usage patterns just normalized.

Does this docking happen only on ipad or is it also available for iphone?

iPad only. Even the plus phones don’t have it. BTW there is also a “split” option on that button, intended to make two handed thumb typing on either side viable.

The Control Center is on the upper right on iPad. You swipe down, and the Control Center takes the small portion of the upper right corner of the display.

Why, just...why? Why fix what wasn't broken? The iPad isn't the iPhone, there is no need for this.

iPads are going to have a notch soon so it’s likely to mirror iPhone X behaviour. What’s odd is they put this behaviour on old iPads but they didn’t put it on old iPhones.

I think another reason may be that many didn’t like entering multitasking just to access quick controls, which is how it worked on iPad in iOS 11. Too much of a context shift.

I just wish it was a pull down menu in the top right that only covered/blurred a small area around the controls rather than the whole screen.
