My alarm did not go off even though it’s on and it’s cauased me to be late for work...anyone else?!

Does it happen to occur at the same time as another alarm or the Wake Up time set in on the Bedtime tab of the Clock? If so, they cancel each other out. It's happened since iOS 11 for me.

Completely disagree with you here. I use 3D Touch every single day, usually every single time I pick up my phone. To say its a gimmick is just not true. IF you don't use it or like it then fine, but to say it's obscure and a power user ONLY feature is incorrect.

Same here. I use 3D Touch constantly.

Anyone having trouble updating a series 2 watch from watchOS beta 8 to 9? iPhone X running iOS 12 beta 11 keeps reporting error checking for update because you're not connected to the internet. No problem updating my series 3 watch.

Non 3D touch phones can now hold on the X in the notifications center to clear all notifications (via Reddit).

So they've officially changed notification behavior? It used to be that the Lock Screen was reserved for new notifications that arrived while the phone is locked; now if you get a notification while using the phone but don't "check" it, it will carry over onto the Lock Screen.

It's total ****.

You cant do peek an pop without 3d touch though

Exactly what I was about to say. For single depth actions long press is a decent (but not great, due to the delay) stand-in. For actions that use multiple depths long press is not a practical replacement.

This is great if true. There’s been many a time where I’ve been reading the news or browsing around here and get a notification that I think at the time “I’ll get to it after I finish this article” or something similar and then completely forget about it and lock my phone. Having that notification greet me when I pick up my phone again is great.

Notification Center is and always has been a joke. The only time I ever open it is to go in and clear a day or two worth of alerts from my doorbell showing my wife and I coming and going (or other stuff I can be arsed to look at).

I see it’s still on the list, has anyone on T-Mobile tried WiFi calling yet? Still broken?

Sounds like the option for those doorbell notifications to appear on lock screen but not notification centre would be perfect for you (I’ve done the same with my baby monitor app) :)

Can you open up the rich notification by long pressing notifications on non-3DT devices or is the only way still to swipe left and tap View?

This might seem like a minor point but swipe and tapping View always sucked on my iPhone 6 and now they’ve added ANOTHER option - Manage - to that swipe menu, it looks a bit messy to me.

Given Apple have just added the ability to have interactive rich notifications in iOS 12, it’s a shame that that feature feels buried. At least with 3D Touch you can get to it quickly and nicely (if you know how!)

I hope they revisit little things like that too if dropping 3D Touch

Rich notifications now open with a long press on iPad Air 2. Or you can swipe.

Yeah but how about all the times you get a notification while you're doing something else but you see it and absorb it, then have to see it again when you next open your phone. It's been driving me insane since the first beta

Sorry, I didn’t know this. I thought that the GM is getting out earlier, and the final version comes with the new phones
Typically we see the GM released during or shortly after the September iPhone event (same day). Then a public release the following week.

After turning system haptics back on the empty app switcher now does vibrate!! Even when you open it with apps running in the back.. finally! How come noone brought that up? The setting?

Hey, I use 3D Touch everyday. Could I live without it though? Absolutely. And if that made for a slimmer, lighter phone with a slightly bigger phone, absolutely x2

Fair enough you love it though.

All reports seem to indicate that it’s not going to be a feature of the LCD iPhone and presumably Apple have their reasons for doing this (likely low usage and consistency with the iPad) if that’s the case.

For me, 3D Touch is a classic ‘nice to have’ feature, but again, fair enough if you get a lot of usage out of it

I can definitely see where you’re coming from. Apple’s method of handling notifications has needed an overhaul for as long as I’ve been using iOS and I’ve been using iOS since it was iPhone OS.

I use 3D Touch every day (the trackpad on the keyboard is so great), but I’d give up 3D Touch in a heartbeat if it meant we’d get slimmer, lighter phones.
