Anyone have an issue with AirPlay not working? It was working fine in beta 1. Now in beta 2 and beta 3, I can’t connect via AirPlay to the Apple TV or HomePod.

So when is this system wide smoothness going to kick in then? This performs worse than beta 2 which still never resolved the frame rate issues. I don’t like the new Control Centre background blur, why did they change that? It looks worse now, much preffered the way it looked before. The controls no longer stand out as much and blend too much with the background.

Can’t believe how fast everything opens. Never thought a beta 3 would be this fast.

Don’t care about fast when it jitters and stutters. Isn’t as smooth as beta 2 which didn’t even resolve the frame rate issues anyway.

iPhone X here with the same problem too!!!

If you go to the wallpaper menu and you see the default wallpaper selected, the reds are very vivid...But when the wallpaper is applied the red is very washed out :/

Here are the differences:

When I first started seeing posts about this I was convinced it must be user error, someone had left on Night Shift or one of the Display Accommodation settings perhaps, but this post is a very effective illustration. After triple-checking all settings that could conceivably affect the display in any way, it is absolutely apparent on my X that wallpapers, at minimum, are less saturated when applied. I'll do some more testing to figure out whether other colors are affected elsewhere in the system. <speculation> I wonder whether for this beta, wide color gamut support has been accidentally or on-purpose temporarily disabled for some portion of Springboard's rendering engine? </speculation>

I never had any jitter, stutter or framerate issues the last time you said this and I still don't. IIRC you used the example of the app store last time. It's completely smooth on an iPhone 7+ and an iPad Pro

Anybody else completely unable to set a photo as wallpaper?

I can toggle the mode (Still/Perspective/Live) but the preview doesn't show anything, I can't move the image at all, and when I press "Set," the wallpaper doesn't change at all.

I can only use the default Apple wallpapers. :(

No, it isn’t. I still have the same jitters from last time. It isn’t “completely smooth” at all just because you aren’t seeing it. If people like me are seeing it then it does exist, and it is still hideous.

iPad multitasking still jumps (it’s like going over an otherwise smooth road but then randomly hitting a bumpy patch), App Store still does the same. No improvements have been made, it is just slightly faster and snappier in some areas, hasn’t really improved UI smoothness at all which is what I actually care about. When I go back to my Pixel 2 which actually is smooth it is immediately noticeable when I go back to using iOS.

iOS hasn’t been smooth since iOS 6 and unfortunately these betas are no different thus far. I have a feeling the final version will be more of the same, despite Apple’s false promises (yet again) to resolve it, similar to how they claimed to resolve it in iOS 9 with Metal which actually made things worse.

Ah, the old "you're seeing it wrong" gambit. No.

Listen, if you aren’t seeing it then you aren’t seeing it. I have no idea how you or anybody else isn’t seeing it when it is so glaringly obvious to me. I wouldn’t just make something like this up for the heck of it you know. It’s been my main gripe with iOS since iOS 7. Every year I hope they fix it and every year they don’t. I’ll still hold out hopes that the final release will fix it since we are still in beta after all, but going by past releases and the fact that it’s still pretty much the same my hopes are starting to wave very thin. I just thought it would be fixed as they made it a point to fix it in their keynote and WWDC session videos. If they don’t live up to their claims then I’m not buying anything from them again since it would be yet another false promise from them (I know, don’t let the door hit you on the way out and that but I’m saying it anyway). I’ve been patient enough after 5 years of the crap and it’s something I personally don’t want to have to deal with for yet another year.

Again, many may be like you and just won’t notice it (which boggles my mind for someone like me who does), or maybe they do and just don’t see it as enough of a problem to care about it like I do. It is a big problem for me though because the reason I loved Apple in the first place was their once smooth 60fps UI with none of this sloppy jank. A truly smooth experience makes all the difference in the world and was one of the reasons why I was so loyal to Apple. What they have going on now is making me want to switch to the Pixel line full time because they seem to value that smoothness I crave.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but where in the heck is Private Browsing in Safari? The button is missing for me

Wallpaper is working with the exception of not being able to scale the image, on both 8+ and iPP. Also not really noticing any washout of colors. Everything looks the same as it has previously.

Clear history button is greyed out in Safari. Unable to clear history

Touch screen seems finicky. Or at least the keyboard does.

Please post a video of your "sloppy jank" and explain it to us, oh wise one.
