Hi guys,

Does the keychain password suggestion function work with websites on safari, on iOS 12 b4 ?

It doesn’t on my iPhone X

Thanks

@Banglazed could you consider changing the topic format (here and or in future) to make clear which developer beta it is and which public beta it is (once it’s out and if it matches the developer one). I’m not sure there aren’t public beta users posting in the beta 3 thread when this one would be more appropriate.

This beta has been pretty solid for me, but I can’t get CarPlay to work for messages at all. It constantly says that it’s having trouble connecting and won’t read new messages or let me send new ones. Frustrating. Has anyone seen this and figured out a solution?

It doesn’t seem to be dependent on signal strength; this happens even when I have a great signal. Other CarPlay functions seem to work fine.

PB3 is worse so far than previous one. Laggy, unresponsive, crashes, CarPlay shucks, etc.

About battery I don’t have a real opinion. I don’t think it is so bad... I hope next beta is better.

Measures app is only for SE and newer ones? I have an iPhone 6 and cannot find it.

What about NFC kit? I think have heard about it in wwdc.

This Beta 4 of iOS 12 roughly puts in the same league as iOS 11. Buggy and stuttery mess. Especially on iPhone X.

I am having frame drops even by swiping left and right on home screen! Field Test app crashes 2nd time on Qualcomm based phones. You need to reboot your phone to get into Field Test mode again...but only for 1 time and after that it again crashes. Bug reported!

iOS 12 started off so well but has quickly gone back to same levels of mediocrity as iOS 8 and iOS 11.

For me beta 4 is not a good update. Feels more buggy overall and the GPS issue is back with a vengeance. Yes, some bugs of beta 3 have been fixed, but overall it is not very good.

I am considering going back to b3...

I have noticed some "drifting" with GPS and an issue where it simply stopped updating altogether when using Google Maps. Not sure what they did but it was definitely a step backwards

Is Face ID on beta 4 still faster than on iOS 11?
For me, FaceID is fast on this beta.

When I got my X last November, I was a big whiner about FaceID. I thought of it as a step backward from TouchID, which by that point had gotten very fast and accurate in my experience.

By 11.4 I'd noticed FaceID had greatly improved. I can't say for sure whether it's better than that on this iOS 12 beta, but it's definitely fast and it's successful from wider angles than in the first few months of FaceID.

My battery has actually been pretty swell..I noticed last couple days i saw it go from 74% to 44%,i have seen this today and yesterday. No new apps, all my same routine.I know it is BETA,just wanted to point it out there!

any of you guy getting Phantom messages on the beta 4? I show 4 messages on the menu screen , but nothing new in messages when I open it up

Judging by the past few pages I'm not the only one seeing bad battery life? I would go as far as describe my battery life as horrible. I was starting to think my battery is faulty, but battery health still claims 97%.

I notice that the battery tracking is seeing some crazy amount of background activity from Snapchat. Like most people I have used Snapchat for years and it sure is a battery hog but this is above and beyond anything I've seen in the past.

In the past 24 hours my iPhone X is claiming that Snapchat has been doing stuff in the background for almost 5 hours (!). So in the past 24 hours, Snapchat has been active in the background for 4,48 hours that sounds insane to me.. Its never been like that before.

With only 20 minute screen time and 4,48 hours background activity Snapchat has drained 43% (!) of my battery the last 24 hours. That's just crazy. Normally I'm only seeing those numbers if I'm actually within the app for hours, but not when only using it actively for 20 minutes....

I went to bed with 100% battery life, at 07:20 AM my iPhone X was dead... And I didn't pick up my phone until 05:30 AM.... The battery life is pretty much useless at this point I have my iPhone X on the charger for like 90% of the day and still I end up in situations where I'm close to 0% battery life.

How do you know it wasn’t Snapchat causing the problem? Perhaps it had crashed in the background?

I really wish Apple would change the battery statistics page so that it resets after each full charge.

Still keep the 10 day stats. But it would be more useful to see if something has gone rogue if it reset after each charge. Otherwise depending on when you look at it in the day you will get different stats as to what’s been discharging the battery.

Eg I took my phone off charge at 0600 this morning. At that point the phone tells me everything that has been draining the battery since 0600 yesterday.

However if I look at it at 1500 today it will tell me what’s been draining it since 1500 yesterday and will also tell me that I’ve charged it in this time.

I like that you can drill down into hour by hour. But it would still make it far easier if they made the 24hr stats reset after each charge.

I’ve suggested this since they started doing the battery life. But they don’t seem to care.

There is no way to know for certain is it? But I have used Snapchat for years and never seen anything like this until iOS 12 BETA4. And many other people are reporting huge issues with battery life.

Funny you mention this as I'm seeing the same thing from Facebook. Now I know that Facebook in the past has done sneaky things like playing a sound clip with no sound to allow itself to run in the background but nothing like I'm seeing with B4. Background is turned off, no access to my camera or Microphone yet the background activity over the past week is in the ours! Facebook seems to be the only app doing it so it's hard to tell if it's FB since they've done it in the past or iOS 12??

Ok so I have got my new iPhone X, set it up as a new phone and updated to he latest iOS 12 Beta. Used iTunes to restore my back up from yesterday which it has done but none of the apps have been installed, any ideas?

Keep in mind these apps are not optimized for iOS 12 just yet. That could be a part of the issue as well.

When you restore, it should download all the apps you had directly from the App Store. Did it ask you to enter your passwords for your iCloud and App Store accounts after restoring?
