Obviously they're a company that is responsible to their shareholders for turning a profit, but how they do it is important. How many Android phones are supported by their latest update? Not even close to the number of iPhones. So even though iOS 11 was ROUGH (nobody is arguing that), I think Apple deserves credit for their approach. I'm not saying they're perfect, but I much prefer them over any of the other companies out there.

Yep they aren't well supported, because as I said before, Samsung & Co. does not have an AppStore, just Google has a App Store(aka PlayStore), and original Google devices are well supported. Releasing Updates has no monetary benefit for Samsung & Co., because they earn money mainly with their hardware sales, thats also the reason why they release uncountable phone models during the year.

In other words, Apples long term iOS support is not because they want to do you a favour.
And at the same time they limit new main iOS features to newer devices to "slowly" psychologically force you to buy a newer one later. Again, it's just a tactical marketing.

But we are getting off topic, better stop and keep iOS12 beta4 thread :)

No I don’t know anything about programming or code because I am not a programmer. I can only state what I see. I just fear we’re gonna venture into iOS 11 territory because beta 1 and 2 were far better than beta 3 and this fourth beta. I sure hope this isn’t the case because as we all know iOS 11 was trash and felt like it was still in beta the entire time from its offcial release. I hope it isn’t going to be the same case this year because Apple’s software has left a lot to be desired in recent years.

Respect for being honest and saying you don't know instead of arguing like you had a clue.. gotta hand you that.

Here's the thing, coding, programming... its all about always fixing something, not everything it flick a button "boom new feature".. I develop and outright own many apps for my company (Windows, Mac, mobile).. I like to think my team, and myself are good at what we do.. but we always have to fix... something. that's just how it works. Code by nature has inherit bugs of its own. Xcode by its purist nature is not perfect... Microsoft Visual Studio - what is used to code for Windows... i swear to god that thing gets more patches then anything i know.. because code platforms by nature are buggy!.

But its deeper then that - myself and my gf.. we have the EXACT same phones -- Verizon Iphone X's... bought the same day. But guess what... she has a handful of problems that i simply don't have.
what i can say is, she has things like Facebook, and SnapChat installed.. Two apps that are extremely notorious for having total garbage... Dumpster fire code that can cause a multitude of OTHER issues on your phone. Myself, i dont have any of those apps installed, and like i said.. i dont have anything near the issues she has... Granted that's not the case for everyone here.. but all that factors in for Apple, meaning they can only control so much.... there is always an outside factor.

You're right. While I don't program, we have a development team that works on our internal website for our homebuilding/sales process and there is always something to fix. Code is not perfect.

Was 490mb on my IPP 10.5. Didn’t see the size on the X due to the auto update.

Still takes ages to prepare on the X (circa 20 mins or so) v the IPP 10.5 (circa 5 mins).

I am facing a unique issue with WiFi where browsing works but:

1. Netflix streaming does not
2. App Store downloads do not
3. Software Update does not.

Number 2 and 3 exist on WiFi on macOS as well.

Connecting to a personal hotspot on a different iPhone works every single time. Something is up with the WiFi on betas, or something is up with my connection. But I cannot prove it is my connection because browsing works, only Apple App Store and Software Update does not work connected directly to an Airport Express connected to a wired broadband connection (PPPoE).

No issues whatsoever if I connect either the Mac or the iPhone using a 4G hotspot or use the Personal Hotspot feature on iPhones to connect between devices over WiFi.

Although I know nothing, I think you've answered you own question really. It is the beta software causing this. Lets face it, we know it wouldn't be doing this on release version so we have to sit it out to see if anything changes or downgrade to 11.4.1 or whatever :(

Just had the springboard crash again now. Still a problem on beta 4. I would say that this is the most annoying bug on ios 12 for me. this crash occurs at the most inconvenient times and places. On the brighter note the spinning wheel took faster to get to the homescreen on this beta.

So this has started happening in iOS 12, which I thought was a bug, but it still persists in beta 4. So maybe it’s the new normal behavior. It goes like this: I have Bluetooth turned on my iPhone X. Get in my truck, which automatically connects to my X via Bluetooth. I start streaming music via Apple Music. Turn off the truck (Bluetooth connection drops, music auto stops). After that the music controls stay on my lock screen forever, until I force quit the Music app on my iPhone. The music controls take up decent screen space and it’s kinda annoying. Is this how it’s supposed to work now?

I started noticing that on beta 3. It does take up a lot of space and hopefully they fix.

*sigh*
Perhaps you should wait until the betas are finished? It would behoove you to file the bug to apple and perhaps they could be more aware of your problem.

Anyone know how to decrease system storage? It's sitting at over 30GB now.. I'd rather not restore as new, but just wondering if anyone has any other fix.
Sync it in iTunes. That dumps the logs and such from betas and frees up some space typically.

Can anyone explain the basic reason of later betas showing more bugs than the beta 1-3?
This has been said in almost every beta since forever but see this post from @Justins567. Great explanation and answer to your question.

If wifi works on hotspot then I would look at your router as being the issue rather than an issue with iOS.

They didn't 'release an update' just yet, this is a beta and made available for beta TESTERS to find these sorts of things :)
