That’s provided you stick through the beta program until the GM is released. If not, you must downgrade.

There are two ways to downgrade iOS, via a DFU restore or “option+update”. Apple recommends the former, and then restore you archived backup. The latter retains diagnostic files. I’ve been doing this for years and have experience with using both methods.
You can leave the beta program and still receive a notification to update to the latest version of iOS once the final, public version is released. You definitely don't have to downgrade to leave the program.

Why is the Public Beta always behind the developers? Today Beta 6 was released, I was prompted to download Beta 5. Why is that ? Thanks
Its not behind exactly as far as build. Dev preview comes out before they let the public testers get it. So the number will be behind BUT its the exact same firmware build. So there is really no difference between them other than Public does not come out at a dev beta 1 release but at either a b2 or b3 time frame. So effectively a DP beta 3 may be a PB beta 1 but the exact same firmware. The 'why' is because typically early betas have more issues and public users shouldn't really be subjected to those issues on primary devices.

You might be missing the point I’m making here. If you joined the beta program today and do not like it - i.e. it’s buggy and have problems. You must downgrade to leave. Your options are to stick it out - or leave. Leaving in this respect, downgrading, can take place in two ways as I listed above. DFU or option+update. The latter retains beta files and diagnostic files.

The post you quoted of mine specifically stated you must stick out the beta until the final comes out or downgrade.

Edited for typos.

I have no idea why they would remove your personalized backgrounds in the Home app. What a terrible decision, I hope that doesn't last.
My personalised backgrounds are still intact on iPhone X?
Open settings -> Go to safari -> black screen. You have to wait a few minutes after closing the settings app until you can use it again.
Yup. Pretty brutal bug.

For those having issues, have any stock apps been uninstalled?
Yeah, voice memos was uninstalled. Attempting to reinstalled it resulted in a black screen unresponsive to touch. How was beta 1 the most stable and how did the betas get progressively worse?

Blurry font bug is back for me. Occasionally when letters are on the screen, one will look extremely blurry and pixelated, while the others are still retina perfect. Zooming in or out on the webpage fixes it.

Are you installing each beta as new or updating. If you are updating then I’m not surprised it’s getting slower. You are stacking beta software.
I’m “stacking” beta software and it’s working fine for me, not getting slower either by my subjective impressions or by Geek Bench scores.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of variables that can cause the slowing down with each consecutive beta - mainly coming down to how you use the device. If you push your device, its more likely to cause crashing in which more diagnostic logs will be created. Just because one does not experiencing slowing down, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Can someone, tell me if SEARCH in Books works in beta 6?

In beta 5 when I touch the magnifying glass icon to access the search entry field, nothing happens.
Exception being Apple’s own Apple Teacher series of books!
All my other books (ePubs) can no longer be searched.

Give me 2 minutes and I will let you know.

Tested with books purchased from Apple, school ebooks and pdfs. Searching works for me.

By what mechanism does having lots of diagnostic logs slow down your device?

Its wasted storage. Wasted storage means there is more for the device to index, its additional clutter and bulk that is unneeded that the processor still has to sort through. It will lead to increased syncing times, backup times and more.

Then factor in those that keep diagnostic syncing turned on. Now those files have to be sorted through in the backend and uploaded to Apple, again wasting processing power. Back when CPU usage apps actually worked with iOS, you could watch the CPU usage difference between keeping diagnostic syncing turned on and off.

If you ever try to create a SysDiagnostic file for Apple, and then try to use the device while the file is being created, your phone will massively lag. Even the iPhone 8 Plus can't create a Sys file and not lag (of course depends on device usage variables as well.)

When screen is locked on my 7 plus and iPP 10.5, I’m not receiving iMessage notifications. Odd. Can’t figure out what the problem is. May have to reset settings as last resort.

Haven't updated yet. Beta 5 has a very slight haptic feedback for me, iPhone X, no apps open.

Try this, if this is kinda of what you're talking about.

under settings>safari>advanced>website data: Remove All website data at the bottom.
The "Clear History and Website data" is apparently not the same. I'd recommend doing both though.

The pop-up you might be seeing is probably from a corrupted website you may have visited; stuck in your history.
it's like the dumb amazon pop-up, "Congratulations, Amazon.com user! You've been selected for a chance to get the $1000 Amazon Gift Card..."

I constantly get endless pop ups saying I’ve won a $10000 amazon gift card bc I’m an iPhone X user

Yeah I have the Bluetooth issue as well. Ok with Apple watch and ok with my Automatic car adapter, but not ok with my Bluetooth in my BMW. I had to toggle the Sync Contacts button off then back on to get it to work as normal.

Does this beta fix the WiFi connection issues and WiFi signal strength dropping?

Worse for me than beta 5. I have to toggle WiFi on and off every time I unlock my iPhone X, which is how it was on beta 4.
Beta 5, it was fine. It was nice for a week anyways!

Working great for me so far in this beta. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays this way

AirPods work, but nothing in the car. No it's not my car, by Pixel XL2 works just fine in the same car. Strange!

This has largely been my experience as well. I was blown away by Beta 1. Part of it is getting used to the speed improvements (I used my wife’s phone last night, same 7 plus as I have), which is on iOS 11. Felt horribly slow. But my connection, particularly to WiFi has been progressively getting worse, had a bug when taking a screenshot that plagued me through the iOS 11 beta where the Done button was on top of the carrier symbol and damn near impossible to tap pop back up on betas 4/5, it’s been an odd run. Going to give this a whirl. But good news is there’s still at least one more beta and then GM in time for a Sept iPhone event.

I am pretty sure there will be at least 2-3 more betas at this rate of bugs
