Interesting I had voice memos uninstalled, installed now let’s see.

Update: installed voice memos can confirm so far no crash, I have lots of uninstalled app but those 4 in list have on phone now.
Same here. I had Voice Memos uninstalled and was suffering from the Settings crash. A quick install seems to have fixed the problem.

I am pretty sure there will be at least 2-3 more betas at this rate of bugs

Probably more than 2 to 3 betas. Once a week betas now till early sept. :)

We might even see a revised beta fix this week for this issue.

Is this bets stacking for real? I haven’t observed any slowdown but every time I go to the next beta on my iPad 6 and my iPhone 8 Plus I run a Geekbench and the score is getting progressively lower. Some you tubers are claiming their scores are higher.

For example on my iPhone the multicore score started at beta 1 in the 10000s and now it’s in the low 9000s

I read many post saying its not a good idea to update via the air because our device will keep diagnostics logs etc. So my question is : If I'm on the beta program and when the official public release will come out and just delete the beta profile and update on the air, will the beta files still remain? So in other words, do we always have to restore our device completely to get rid of all beta files? and if so, do backups will still have beta files ont it?

Thanks

If you are running a geekbench after installing, yes you are going to see performance issues. The phone is indexing.

Backups do not contain beta files. If you do an OTA to public release from beta, beta files will remain. If you do a full ipsw install through iTunes, files will be wiped. Restore is not required.

Thanks for the quick reply. So in other words, I just need to update via iTunes when the official update comes. Thanks again.

Screen Time settings are no longer "sticking" for me. My test phone was setup as one of my son's devices, and whether I setup on my phone or his, the down time and app limits settings always revert to "off" a few seconds after I set them.

This did not happen in Beta 5. Anyone else see this?

This happened to me too. I turned off screen time then turned it back on and it’s working properly now.

You’ll have to reset up the screen time settings.

Are you installing each beta as new or updating. If you are updating then I’m not surprised it’s getting slower. You are stacking beta software.

I'm commenting from the stance of watching speed tests online. My iPad Pro seems about the same beta to beta.

Can someone explain the significance of the alpha character at the end of the build identifier that changes with each release? I’d expect it to decrease over the course of the builds and generally it does, but sometimes it increases. Does the higher alpha value equate to more bugs and less stability or is there no correlation?

Yep. Easy as that. I’m part of the camp that does major updates through iTunes anyway. My OTA luck is pretty bad.

Higher the letter means more times that one specific build was worked on. Thus, this build had 6 revisions but the last build had 5. So it had more minor bug fixes than the previous build. More means QC sent it back for changes more often, so it could be less stable. But we can’t compare so we don’t know.

Did you turn it off on both phones?

Did you set up screentime on your phone for your sons phone?

Yes. I set it up from my phone for his. I've turned it off / on numerous times on both devices. If I set the down time limit for his phone from mine, it displays that downtime is scheduled from 10PM - 7AM for about 3 seconds, then turns itself off. It's almost like the push services in the background are going back n forth.

Yes that works, but does not allow me to control the settings, nor does it allow for him to request more time. Then, as soon as I setup Screen Time from my phone, the behavior returns.

Here's a video of what happens on both phones when setting up from MY phone. It just reverts the downtime settings: https://imgur.com/a/BmuViwl

Having an issue where apps are downloading extremely slow, and when I try to update I get “unable to check for update” errors.

Anyone have a solution? Super frustrating. Tried redownloading the dev beta profile, and have hard reset my phone a couple times. Seems possibly iCloud related but I’ve also tried signing out and then back in.

Have you tried to turn off WiFi Assist in Cellular setting? Airplane mode with WiFi? Network reset? Are you using public WiFi? If you attempted to download the update, go to iPhone Storage and delete the partial update and start fresh to trigger it again in Software Update.

3D Touching a Siri shortcut suggestion immediately crashes my iPhone X every time.
