I am now inclined to think that it is a 'feature' for it to be not shown in the status bar.

I don’t think it will be again. BT is most likely considered an always-on thing from now on. Just like gps.

Considering their push to wireless with AirPods, it might be so. I don't know since I do not have the watch with me, but the watch is dependent on bluetooth as well for some things, yes?

Definitely a feature. It makes no sense to have a Bluetooth icon perpetually shown in the status bar for those of us who are wearing an Apple Watch. I know Bluetooth is on. The fact that my non-AirPod Bluetooth headphones still pop up for a second also proves this. Again, I know I'm wearing them. I don't need something cluttering my status bar to remind me.

Seems to be stable with my exchange email again. Was broken in the first few betas, then broken again in 7 and 8.

Anyone having bluetooth instabilities connecting to car? Just started yesterday after updating to Beta 9. Car is a 2018 BMW 440i. Both Carplay and normal bluetooth connectivity are unstable. Tried unpairing/repairing, updated vehicle software to be sure, rebooted phone, etc.
I don't have CarPlay enabled in my 2017 4 series, but Bluetooth has been rock solid, including B9.

Can anyone confirm if the following is happening for them:

Place a folder on the dock (note the colour)
Swipe to the right to the widget screen
Swipe back to the homescreen
Notice the folder is not transparent and is lighter/whiter for a second

I've raised this with Apple but interesting to see if this is just limited to me.

When receive a picture text message (whether imessage or mms), you never get the photo preview in the notification. for example if someone sends a picture of their dog and types "this is my dog," the notification will only have the text and you have no idea you were sent a photo until you open it.

I noticed that as well, but I wasn't sure if that was a bug or a feature. I mean really, that's a tiny, tiny thumbnail and I just end up opening iMessage anyway.

Yes, I agree, not usually useful. Even a "+1 attachment" or something is ideal. Would rather know there's an image in the message I'm about to open, just in case it could be NSFW or something.

Installed yesterday on my iPhone 8+ and iPad Air 2, it runs very well on both devices.

It was expected on the 8+ but the improvement on old devices such as the Air 2 is really impressive. I was thinking about replacing it soon, looks like it can serve me well for one more year.
I’m really happy to hear about that! I’m using an iPad Air 2, is overwhelming how good iOS 12 seems to be performing on it. Hope I have the same experience as yours when I update mine.

I’ve noticed that my phone will no longer provide Siri suggestions for incoming calls or texts:

Example - “Maybe: John Doe”

I’ve got “Find Contacts in Other Apps” turned ON under the “Siri and Search” menu. Am I missing something?

I’ve also noticed this and am not really a fan. Even though it used to be a tiny thumbnail, it was still sort of helpful.

I noticed this throughout the betas. For me, I mostly get a pics without any text as though the sender sent a blank message until I open it.

This has got to be a feature not a bug. I would imagine many a meeting has been enlivened, shall we say, with a presenter receiving a NSFW picture via iMessage from a significant other.

Happened to me on the Mac once while I was presenting on WebEx. Working at midnight and my gf sent me a "motivational" picture. I could not swipe that notification off the screen fast enough!

I’m not able to connect to any of devices that use Bluetooth. I have reset and set up as new and still the same thing. Not being able to use my Apple Watch and CarPlay, has been a deal breaker for me, so I’m downgrading back to iOS 11.4.1, until the GM is released.

I just tried. I don’t have this behavior, it’s working fine

For me this beta is slower than beta 8.....
I notice a few lags and fps drops that didn't exist on beta 8
Ps: iphone x

Anyone else having issues with the grouping of gmail notifications on the lock screen? I have tried both automatic and by app for gmail but they are shown message by message...

My Air2 was feeling somewhat sluggish on iOS 10, and through 11 it was only worse (11.4.1 broke my WiFi, had to constantly turn it off and on for it to work again).
With iOS 12 it just runs sooo much better!!

Battery life is amazing for me, the best until now.

I don’t notice lag, like other people say. This beta is very good too

Can you check this out on your drive tomorrow please?

Took me all day but was finally able to give this a try. I use the UK Siri voice. That one says “reply” quite clearly. Tried it several times and am convoying heard it correctly.

So you’ve lost it.
