As I've mentioned before, my original SE didn't like the iOS12 upgrade one bit. Straight after the upgrade battery life plummeted and unexpected shutdowns occurred. Couldn't get a day out of it. The Genius Bar replaced the SE as it was only 10 months old. The replacement SE was pre-installed with iOS 11.4.1 but before doing anything with it I loaded iOS 12 through iTunes and new setup. Same setup as the original but now get days of usage with the SE on iOS12 :)

My veteran launch day iPhone 6 Plus is coping fine with iOS12, now down to 93% battery health but easily gets through 2 days on a single charge. See attached.
This is exactly why I'm thinking of changing my battery. I have a feeling things will get much better afterwards but that's only a feeling and I could be throwing money away. We shall see soon. The Apple Store told me if you attempt to change your 9.3.5 device battery however be aware if we can't remove the battery successfully and without damaging your phone we will just give you a new phone but that won't come with 9.3.5 so make sure your happy with that mini disclaimer first. :/

I have DFU restored my X and started afresh. Didn’t help much if at all.
Same here. New battery or nothing I guess!

is that why all my iphones and all my iPads have not had any of these massive issues that everyone is griping about? thanks for the info
I'm glad you don't have them. I stand by my recommendation. As I said, tolerance levels are different. I tend to believe that if you haven't had issues it is because you haven't had a device which was updated far enough, or have a higher tolerance, but my assumption might be incorrect, of course. If you update every year, then you won't have any issues, or they might be minimal enough for you to dismiss them.
For example - even if it does have some slight lag and some very slight (almost negligible) highly annoying keyboard lag, my iPhone 5c on iOS 9 - or 10, I read it doesn't vary - isn't anything unusable; on the contrary, it is quite nice to use. I did read that the 5 and 5c were exceptions: the 4s was absolutely crippled on iOS 9.
Now, don't ask about battery life. It isn't good. At all. 4-5.5 hours depending on usage. According to what I've read (never had it on iOS 7), battery life should be on par with the 5s, iPhone which I did use, and got around 6.5-8 hours depending on usage.
Also, unless severely degraded, battery health is not an important issue. Yes, battery life can decrease - I have certainly experienced it - but not to the levels iOS updates take it.

Does the 9.3.5 one work fine? If it does, I would not risk it. If it gets enough battery life - which it should, unless severely degraded -, I wouldn't do it. In my honest opinion, it isn't worth the risk.

To be honest I think your right. My 9.3.5 is rock solid with fantastic battery. The wear level using coconut battery it's 4% only and it's running perfectly. Yea, I think I'll skip the reduced battery cost for this one and just do the 12 device even though that has less wear.

96% health with great battery life? Yes, definitely, I'd advise you not to do it. I think I would only do it if it had something like <80% and battery life was poor.

Maybe a little early but anyone noticed any battery changes with 12.1 installed..? I'm not too sure if I should update using iTunes and set up as new or just upgrade as its only a .1 increment... ?

updated my se to 12.1...will let you know if there are any improvements. i have 2 se's one with 12 and the other 12.0.1...i did notice the se with 12.0.1 drained faster than the 12...just updated the latter to 12.1. hoping but seriously doubt there will be any difference.

Is there any chance of improvement towards the last few updates of iOS 12? I do recall that Apple sometimes improved the battery life - even if it does not reach iOS 9-10 levels - with some later iOS updates, when initial ones decreased battery life severely, as iOS 12 seems to be that case.
For instance, I know that iOS 11 severely decreased the battery. Did it ever improve, even if ever so slightly, towards, let's say, iOS 11.3/11.4? I know that it was really worsened on an iPhone 7, getting around 5 hours of usage, but I have no idea if iOS 11.0 got 4, for example.

I'm happy to report that this new update have fixed battery issues on my SE

Well those are good news aren't they? hope it fix the battery issues on ipads too.

I’m browsing internet for 15 min and battery percentage does not drop. Before it would have dropped by few percentage points. Before even with screen off for an hr the battery would lose few percent but not after update.

updated my se yesterday and did notice my battery wasn't dropping as fast...then this morning took phone off charger at 100% and 2 hrs later after not using the phone at all my battery was at 72%...i'll try a soft reset and see how my phone performs throughout the day.

Same....12.1 looked good initially, but my SE just dropped from 100 to 88 after sitting on my desk not being used for an hour.

12.1 "sips" battery on iPhone X and barely or zero with iPad pro. The beta would have had extra code for sure. That 12.1 install weighed in at 2.4GB.

Try a few things ... IPP 12.9 G2 LTE - battery is great except for video. It eats through it at about 2x norm. I swapped by IPP from B5 to 12.1. So far the battery life for video appears to be the same as B5.
Giving it a few days before I call it.
