Let everyone know here what you think of apples claimed speed boost for opening apps in iOS 12 and what it’s like on battery life
Yeah I know! Hopefully it makes older devices more useable unlike older iOS versions
Wow even the X is faster it’s already awesome on iOS 11My X is much faster now.
That’s awesomeiPad Air does seem a little snapper.
Hopefully mini will get better, that’s great about 12.9 will be looking forward to updating that!Quick update:
The 12.9” iPad is running great so far, but the mini 4 is hanging like crazy, especially springboard.
That's not encouragingiPhone 6+ seems about the same as iOS 11.4. Home button still seems like it's delaying a little before it kicks in. Still need to vet for some of the known bugs but Apple hasn't updated their bug reports so I'm kinda guessing they are still there. Will wait a day to see if battery life is better. May pop a sim card in again to test that now, actually...
iPhone X is a bit more responsive with gestures, a welcome addition. Face unlocking does work a bit more reliably/faster, though it may just be me (lighting in the room is also quite good right now). Apps don't seem to open up any faster, Facebook still takes ages to open and load new items. Some apps crash outright upon opening. Looks like I also gotta rebuild my own apps. App switcher seems to pause/delay a little before jumping in so I'm guessing I gotta restore the whole phone to see if that's just because of app config or something like that.
So far, 6+ is the same, X is a bit... better here and there, worse elsewhere.

It's a beta 1. Reports of app crashes and some instability are to be expected. The fact that most are saying it's either about the same or faster in terms of performance is actually encouraging. That doesn’t sound good lol
Well, I think the most performance improvement will be visible on older devices, the iPhone X is already fasteverythingapplepro made a video and said on his X it doesnt seem any diff than 11.4 anyone with X can you confirm this
Doesn’t hurt to get first impressionsWait, you guys are all responding to the speed of the very first beta, after just installing it?
Don't you want to let things settle down and index for a bit? Specifically on the older hardware?
