iOS 12 - speed and battery life

I'm a developer with one phone and a lot of curiosity. I'm on the verge of updating to beta 1 but my biggest concern is battery life. Seems like I should take the plunge...
I’m on regular iPhone 8(not plus), been off power since 730am and it’s just before 5pm and after a full day of normal use. I’m at 70% which is shocking and amazing.
They’ve done a fantastic job and I can’t believe this is beta 1.
I’ve been using my x since 7:30 am with a few charges here and there for 10-15 min and I’m at 65%!
If I 3D Touch settings and go to battery, usage is5 hrs and standby is 8.5 hrs. What are your stats?
I don’t think they increase the clock speed I think it just goes to the max clock speed when it needs to then goes back down to save battery life is what I took from it
I have 12 on my X and watchOS 4, and have not seen any difference in battery usage on the watch.
That’s called Battery and you find it standard under the Settings of iOS...

Yes and I'm not noticing a hit on my watch running watchOS 4. Still 66% after 1/2 hour of watch cellular and the rest of the day paired with iPhone on the beta.
I have ios12 but watch os4.

Keeping it charged is I’m going to a baseball game after work and don’t wanna run out of power.
Tomorrow I’ll try not to use my phone normally over the work day and not charge it and see how long it lasts.
Noticeably faster on my (16gb) 6S, from the moment I first unlocked after the beta install completed.
Apps open faster, apps are responsive to input quicker when pulling them back from the app switcher, sliding to the widget screen and the widgets update quicker. Basically, everything seems just that bit faster than iOS 11.4.1.
Not sure about battery life as I don't feel the beta's been out long enough for me to form an opinion.

Battery life is pretty bad on my iPhone X, but that is to be expected. I always carry a powerbank anyway, so not that big of an issue at the moment. But I'm genuinely surprised by how fluid animations are and how stable everything seems for a first beta. I'm blown away even.
It's definitely a good sign, considering there's plenty of other betas to come!

iPhone X, 30% battery left, 14 hours since took off the charge.
Screen on usage shows 6 hr 43 min, still learning how to use the battery stats since last charge.
Normally would be around 40% by now so pretty good battery for beta 1.
