To avoid that I unplugged my phone one morning at 7:30 am and let it run u til 7:30 the next morning with no charges in between. In that 24 hour period the 24 hour stats STILL looked off.
Yeah I’m sure it’s still probably going to be a bit buggy for awhile till they smooth things out.

I'm on beta 2 on an iPhone 7 and everything seemed fine. Today I charged my phone to 100% and in less than 6 hours it drained empty. I hardly used it in those 6 hours. This is insane. Anyone else has a smilier issue? Any idea what's going on?

Nope! What do you get when you tap on show usage? What are the % values for each app?

Mainly Safari @ 44% but that was over a 24H period also.

I didn't have this issue on beta 1.

I guess something is draining it...

Very happy with the performance on my 12.9" iPad Pro. Haven't tried it on my X yet as I'm waiting for a few apps I need to get updated and start working with iOS 12.

I got my battery replaced on Monday afternoon...looking forward to having a full week of results. It was getting silly. I left my house with 84% battery that day and after about 35 mins of use I was down to 56%. Battery beta said health was 80%, coconut said 76%. I was at 672 charge cycles.

Battery life is definitely worse than it was on iOS 11. I have an iPad Pro and generally it lasts me about 13 to 15 hours of screen on use. i’ll use it almost an entire shift at work scanning documents and making calls, and go home and have it sitting there on to text and change music. After upgrading to iOS 12 beta, it used up 15% in 45 minutes. Facebook messenger was the cause.

That being said, EVERYTHING else is flawless. It looks like a final release to me. My geekbench score went up by 100 points to 9530. Going to send feedback on the battery life.

Interesting about the iPad. It’s possible battery life is as god/better on iPhone but worse on iPad. I’d consider installing the beta on my iPad but I’m concerned about one particular iPad app.

One reason I’d like to install the beta on iPad is it would be nice to see combined usage stats for all devices in ScreenTime.

I’m sure it will be fine in final release. I’m a strong iPad guy so I wanted to test the beta to make sure it is as good as possible come release. I reported the power loss to feedback I’ll do so every beta release if it isn’t better.

That’s why I run the betas too. Apple has actually used my feedback to improve features before releases. They listen to you more when you’re a developer on the beta team than when you’re just submitting random feedback.

ive just installed iOS 11.4 on my 8 Plus and as soon as I did the battery has began going down by 1% every two minutes it seems, do you reckon ios12 beta 3 can resolve this?

iPhone 6+ seems about the same as iOS 11.4. Home button still seems like it's delaying a little before it kicks in. Still need to vet for some of the known bugs but Apple hasn't updated their bug reports so I'm kinda guessing they are still there. Will wait a day to see if battery life is better. May pop a sim card in again to test that now, actually...

iPhone X is a bit more responsive with gestures, a welcome addition. Face unlocking does work a bit more reliably/faster, though it may just be me (lighting in the room is also quite good right now). Apps don't seem to open up any faster, Facebook still takes ages to open and load new items. Some apps crash outright upon opening. Looks like I also gotta rebuild my own apps. App switcher seems to pause/delay a little before jumping in so I'm guessing I gotta restore the whole phone to see if that's just because of app config or something like that.

So far, 6+ is the same, X is a bit... better here and there, worse elsewhere.
The facial recognition technology doesn’t depend on ambient light.

on my SE, it's the News app that's the battery killer; when i don't use that, i get an all-day battery. when i do use it, closer to half-a-day... (battery usage confirms News as the culprit).

For me I have noticed a boost when I start using the device. Overtime it starts to get slower mainly when it heats up just from thermal throttling, but other than that it’s been good. Impressed with it.

The percieved speed up on my iPad Air2 with PB1 has been tremendous. iOS 11 had hit the device hard. I had to "reduce motion" to keep it barley workable. But over the iOS 11 year I stopped using it. With iOS 12pb1 the device feels brand-new again. Everything works smoothly and I could disable "reduce motion" again. No stalls, hangers or slow-downs. The device is usable again... and despite early betas are usually slower than releases. I'm impressed.

I’m tempted to put it on my 7. May wait till end of August after a holiday weekend as I’ll be travelling and needing to rely on my phone.

Here’s my biggest problem with iOS... and I hope it’s fixed with iOS 12!
With safari.. when you swipe back. You have to wait for it to “load” before it lets you start scrolling... im praying that this is fixed.. I think this started around iOS 7 - iOS 8. This wasn’t always the case

It's still the same in my testing.
