Putting 12.1.1 into beta might mean no 12.2 before the New Year. Also means 12.2 could be bigger than past 12.2 updates and be more like a X.3 update.

I bet the 12.1.1 is partly to fix the visual voice mail issues with the eSim.

Since there is no readme for 12.1.1 we won’t know what they are fixing.

Is your eSim the primary or secondary?

Verizon has been saying they aren’t putting their eSim activation until the carrier software fix comes in 12.1.1 so maybe that’s one of the big reasons for this instead of 12.2...getting the carriers fixed for the esim activations.

What expectations for iOS 13?

Assuming you aren’t trolling me : iOS 13 is widely expected to be at least as big an overhaul of the iOS UI as iOS 7 was. There are rumors that even the Homescreen / Springboard may be redesigned. The story is that this was originally planned for iOS 12, but that the problems with iOS 11 led Apple to hold off and use iOS 12 instead to smooth out the numerous rough edges that had developed in the OS.

These are the kind of stories that make one salivate waiting for WWDC 2019.

I don't believe the stories, I've been speculating since iOS 8 that iOS 13 will be the redesign. Every three years there is a subtle design change, and the 7th year is a full redesign. Apple probably had already started working on iOS 12 before iOS 11 launched.

No. It’s the 7th version that changes. The 7th is considered one on the new set. So it’s 1-6/7-12 and so on.

13 is our next major redesign.

I’ve been calling this for years now. Everyone said our next redesign was 11, but nope 13 it will be.
