It will be tomorrow probably because this would be exactly two weeks was the last beta released I think! Waiting for MAC OS beta 4 and IOS for sure

Not really sure why there would be expectations really one way or another about today or even this week in particular.

I’m a bit surprised so far I know the days still not over but I was expecting public 12.1.1 today or GM for us or 12.2 for us what say everyone else?
Why are you surprised? This seems to be no different than 10.2 or 11.2. Instead of a X.2 build its X.1.1. Early to mid-December should be expected.

On a related note, I am a little surprised (although perhaps surprised might be too strong of a word for it) that there is a somewhat lengthy beta process for an x.y.z bug fix release.

10.3.3 and 11.2.5 had this as well. So it's not the first time that it has happened. Even some back in the iOS 9 era.

I think everyone is surprised is beta 3 was dropped 2 weeks ago. It was on a weekly beta drop. (I know it was US Thanksgiving last week). But beta 4 or GM should drop this week.
This happens every year this time of year, not sure why its a "surprise". As mentioned dozens of times in this thread, there is no such thing as a "GM" for non-X.0 builds.

Not the first time, sure, but still a bit odd nonetheless. (Also, at least for 11.2.5 it was a little different in that they made it a somewhat bigger update in a sense that they put out that beta shortly after 11.2 was released leaving room for smaller bug fix releases like 11.2.1, etc. to be released if needed during the beta process for 11.2.5.)

@C DM, well, if the article is true, then this will also include the ECG feature along with bug fixes. I may be wrong but there could also be liability or legal issues from enabling this feature during the beta testing cycle.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another beta and they push out the public release next week, but I'm hoping to get b4 tomorrow, LOL.

Technically speaking a new feature like that would be in an x.y minor/feature release (so basically something like 11.2) rather than an x.y.z bug fix release.

Tomorrow beta 4 for sure, it was like that last year also, I have the dates written down from last year, we not going to die people we can all wait till tomorrow! My phone is stable and good I’m happy

If there’s something to be fixed that they think should be fixed before released then they will be another beta...if they don’t or they find a bug that’s not critical they don’t need a beta...it’s not a science there’s not a mandatory amount of betas for a revision. If someone wants to base it off the memo about the Apple Watch update it probably depends on how long they want to give their employees to read a memo, but judging on the time they give them to orient themselves to new phones, it shouldn’t be longer than a week in my opinion. Plus them stopping certifying 12.0.1 and not releasing 12.1.1 puts the world in an imbalance lol.

Actually, if the MacRumors story posted today is accurate, it is going to be released in connection with a minor release: WatchOS 5.1.2. But it will be a standalone app that is likely going along for the ride, so to speak, with the beta release (to meet Apple's promised delivery date).

That kind of goes along with a bit of an oddity of a feature like that being released in warchOS 5.1.2 rather than something like 5.2.

Because Apple said it will be out before year end, so they have no choice. watchOS 5.2 won’t be ready until next year.
Well, they could have had it become 5.2 and whatever is next simply become 5.3.

Not sure I agree that a 12.1.1 would be the equivalent to an 12.2 but....... Anyway I wouldn't be surprised to see either a beta 4 or release tomorrow though.
