Just make sure to delete the beta profile if you have it. OTA live

Nah, I stayed off the beta (new Watch and I wanted it to live free for awhile!). OTA became visible at about 20 past the hour. Still downloading to Watch. I hate how slow that it is. That said, I can't wait to see how fast my S4 installs it!

Disable bluetooth on your iPhone, that way your Apple Watch will connect using WiFi (make sure your watch is connected to the same WiFi network as your phone), download will be MUCH faster that way, after the update reactivate bluetooth

I'd forgotten about that tip! Thanks! Will use it next time (finally finished downloading)

Added: the download took 20 minutes. The install took about 90 seconds. Waaaay faster than my Series 0!!!

I'm thinking we're not going to see 12.2 beta until after New Years. If it was to come out Monday and start with a 2 week beta cycle, that would put week 2 at Christmas Eve when Apple is shut down for the week. My guess is a 12.1.5 beta or something like that.

... and what would be different with a 12.1.5 beta instead of a 12.2 beta? I think we see a 12.2 beta next monday/tuesday and a second beta in the new year

I'd assume a 12.2 might have some minor new features while a 12.1.5 would be a "Bug fixes and performance improvements" type of release that could go a few weeks without an update. If we get a beta next week, it could be a full 4 weeks before we get a second beta.

Typically the 1st betas are on a 3 week cycle so next week makes since to me. Monday more specifically. :)

It would have to be a 4 week cycle if we were to get a release tomorrow. New Years Eve is the Monday after Christmas Eve so the soonest that we could see a second beta would likely be the week of January 7th. I doubt that they'd leave a 12.2 beta 1 in rotation for a full month.

Yikes. Not to get too ahead of myself but at this rate I wouldn't be too surprised if there were no more beta releases this year.

Or to look at this from the other perspective: if they don’t release one this week, there will be nearly an entire month of no betas in the system. Looking at it that way, which one seems the more likely course?
