And when was beta 2 dropped for those versions? 10.2.1 beta 2 dropped 6 days later.

So we can see beta 2 before the new year!
11.2.5 beta 2 was December 19, and 9.2.1 beta 2 was released January 4. So that’s more uncertain.

New Years Eve is not a holiday, New Years Day is. Not sure anyone closes for NYE that I remember. Maybe some retail or offices close early but that should not affect iOS updates at 10:00am. Just don't think that would be a reason for no beta this week. We may not get one for other reasons though. I stand by my guess that we will though. :)
Just because you don’t know anyone that closes New Year’s Eve is a logical fallacy. I personally know of 10+ different companies closed that day. I have extensive family members off across the country. It’s because it falls on a Monday.

Not sure what part of the country your in, but all school faculty have off from 12/18-1/2 in my 4 local school districts.

Well I work for the school system. We will be working NYE but off NYD. Anyone wanting off that day will have to use leave time/PTO. Everywhere else I have ever worked was the same way. Sure they may be some exceptions but as a rule I think most will be working.
Often enough in the high tech/Silicon Valley world things are somewhat more accommodating in that sense where more time off is often given during this type of time of the year, and in particular when a holiday might fall on something like a Tuesday or a Thursday, where there would just be a single day between it and the weekend, and the usual take on it that many will take that time off anyway so often enough it gets included as a day off, in one sense or another. As you said, it's not necessarily like that in other industries and/or locations, but at least for high tech and Silicon Valley it's not really uncommon.

In my defense, I was talking about 12.2. So with a 12.1.2 beta, weekly betas are perfectly normal. Just about Everyone is banking on 12.2 being the next beta.

I went back to the official release of 12.1.1 and now checking for updates only wants to install 12.1.1 Beta 3.

Anything I can do to go straight to 12.1.2 beta 1?

Nope, school is out for students but not staff. We will be working Thurs 27th, Fri 28th, and Monday 31st. And just because you know 10 companies that are closed that that day does not mean that new years EVE is all of a sudden a national holiday. That is just a logical fallacy. :)

OK OK maybe they are closed maybe they are not. Its all good and and pretty much irrelevant anyway. We got a beta today as I suspected and speculated. Clearly nothing to do with whether Apple is working 3 weeks from now or not. :) Not sure how/why these "Apple is closed, no they are not" posts come up every holiday and every year anyway.

You entirely misread my post and misinterpreted my meaning. No where did I mention anything about a national holiday. I never said everyone was off, but I said people are off in response to you saying you don't know of anything closing on Eve. And you said everywhere else you had worked has been the same. Thats the logical fallacy - assuming because you had to work others do.

(As I mentioned, your school district schedule is very, very different than anything near me. I have family members that work for 3 different districts and all are off from 12/18-1/2. Faculty are off.)

They come up because every year people post betas will be released the week of major Holidays; Thanksgiving and Xmas and they do not, because Apple is closed.
