Yikes. Not to get too ahead of myself but at this rate I wouldn't be too surprised if there were no more beta releases this year.
Why? Last year 11.2.5 beta 1 was released 12/13 and beta 2 was released 12/19.

It’s possible we see 12.1.5 this week.

It would have to be a 4 week cycle if we were to get a release tomorrow. New Years Eve is the Monday after Christmas Eve so the soonest that we could see a second beta would likely be the week of January 7th. I doubt that they'd leave a 12.2 beta 1 in rotation for a full month.
Why couldn't they release one 12/31? Or even 1/2? 12/31 would be exactly 3 weeks.

With New Year’s Eve falling on a Monday, I’m willing to bet a good number of companies will be closed. “Stores” will be opened, but headquarters will be closed.

Because we are expecting 12.2 beta, not 12.1.2. X.2 betas have a minimum of two weeks in beta for the first beta.

Or to look at this from the other perspective: if they don’t release one this week, there will be nearly an entire month of no betas in the system. Looking at it that way, which one seems the more likely course?
Not unheard of. Maybe in the last year, but Post-iOS 7 it has happened before.

New Years Eve is not a holiday, New Years Day is. Not sure anyone closes for NYE that I remember. Maybe some retail or offices close early but that should not affect iOS updates at 10:00am. Just don't think that would be a reason for no beta this week. We may not get one for other reasons though. I stand by my guess that we will though. :)

When New Year's Day is on a Tuesday it's kind of odd to have people come in from the weekend for just a single day of work (which is also a day when many leave earlier to get ready for some celebrations) to have the following day off again. Often enough in situations like that the Monday ends up being given as a day off in one way or another. Not sure what the scheduling is like at Apple this year, but it's certainly far from unlikely that that day wouldn't be a working day.

Well I work for the school system. We will be working NYE but off NYD. Anyone wanting off that day will have to use leave time/PTO. Everywhere else I have ever worked was the same way. Sure they may be some exceptions but as a rule I think most will be working.

Hopefully this upcoming beta is stable because we’ll be stuck with it for a full month.
