nothing on 9 to 5 nor macrumors so who knows... The cases come out tomorrow, so I would think Apple would push out the update today.

When I tried to order one yesterday, the earliest pickup option it gave me was Friday. And this was right after the news came out.

Given when Rene Ritchie posted his pics of them on Twitter, I’d say the embargo was lifted at noon Eastern. But maybe products hit store tomorrow along with updates?
in the UK it says Friday, im sure tomorrow something will come out, unless the batt case doesnt need newest ios update
Why would the new battery case need new iOS? Don't you remember that guy from reddit that modified his iPhone 7 battery case and connected it to the iPhone X and it showed up as a new battery case with new icon? He was on iOS 12.1.2

So these cases are not working now and needs a software update.. in that case, 11.2.3 must be tomorrow at least Friday

When I tried to order it says delivery in one business day, clicking further says Friday.
I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in that as Rene Ritchie confirmed that the charging cases do not work with the iPhone X.
Well he didn't update to the latest iOS before testing. Now that he has, he noted the case works just fine. Further updates should iron out any other compatibility bugs. Apple needs to be careful with the current lot of iOS 12 updates because with iOS 13 they'll drop support for some devices as usual. So they always do a nice clean up job prior to a major release because of this. I just keep hoping iOS 13 is a major redesign with a gob of new features or at least make things easier to use.
Just checked his Twitter. It looks like him and Chris are getting mixed results.
Either way I’m sure 12.1.3 irons out any issues there may be so we could very well see a release by the end of Friday.
Ah, I had not seen the further developments. Well, then we'll almost certainly see the update tomorrow. Unless Apple says "This case is for Xs / Xs Max so phooey on you X owners" and doesn't provide the update!

Even if you could get it to work, the mic and speaker holes do not line up with the X; hence, out of the box functionality would be degraded.
As far as the topic ... other rumors had a Jan 29 final to match up with a Japan Apple Pay enhancement rumor ...
